Candice Elaine Baker Saucier

“CANDY” About Candy:

As an Air Force brat, I was born in Illinois; lived in

Texas, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Nebraska before mov-

ing to Louisiana as a teenager. This is home!

Married to Riley Saucier for many years, three chil-dren, seven grandchildren and one four-legged child

Pixie (Shhh! Don’t tell her she’s a dog!)

Things About Me:

I am loyal, analytical, a problem-solver, and people-

oriented.

I love to read. I also enjoy sewing unique items for my

grandkids and volunteering in Bible educational work.

If I could vacation anywhere in the world it would be

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. My husband and I

went there once and it is paradise!

My favorite subjects in school were History and

Advanced Math.

The thing I miss most about being a kid is that my biggest worry was how long until summer vacation

started!

If I could meet anyone dead or alive it would be Abraham Lincoln. I would love to pick his brain.

If I had an autobiography of my life it would be named “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger”!

My most prized possession is my Bible.

If I had 30 minutes to spare I would read simply for pleasure.

My vision for the future is a happy, united, peaceful world!

Employment:

City of Alexandria—Compensation Analyst. I audit jobs, conduct salary surveys and perform classifi-

cation and compensation reviews.

“Keep on seeking first the Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you”. Matthew 6:33

Board Member Spotlight

Sandra Jo Mott Mask (Any person old enough to remember Petticoat Junction can appreciate my middle name :)

About Sandy: I grew up in Pollock, LA. When I moved away to college and then to Texas, I said

I wouldn’t move back. I have had to eat those words because I have been back in

Cental LA for 6 years now. My husband laughs that it was never on his bucket

list to live in Pollock.

I am married to Bill Mask and we celebrated 23 years this year. He has grown

children from a previous marriage but we only have furry children (2 dogs and a

cat that rule the house). My parents have been married for 66 years and I had

three brothers (all older). My oldest brother is the only one of us to have chil-

dren. I am very close to his three boys. Two of them are married with children

and I get to be the “fun” aunt. The third one is getting married in April. Growing

up we were very close to our cousins on both sides of the family and visited

back and forth frequently and always on holidays. I am trying to reconnect with

some of them now that I am back home.

Education: I graduated from Northeast Louisiana University so many years ago that I don’t

want to tell the year.

I also earned my Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation. I love to learn, so I frequently attend semi-

nars or complete online modules.

Things About Me:

I love to read anything and everything—the Kindle tablet and the Kindle app are the most wonderful inventions ever!

Working in the flower gardens, sewing, and home decorating are my fun past times.

My close friends will tell you that I am a shopaholic and I have been accused of teaching my oldest grandniece how to shop

online, especially at Amazon.

I have always wanted to go to Australia and New Zealand.

I loved every subject in school except for science and suffered through general biology and chemistry. I managed to get science

credits in college with geology and horticulture.

The thing I miss most about being a kid is holidays. They were so much fun with everyone around eating, opening presents, and

laughing. As an adult you are more aware of the cost of everything, the tensions between certain family members, and how the

kids just tear open the gifts, throw them aside for the next one, and don’t’ really know who gave them what.

I love Mexican and Italian food. My favorite Mexican restaurant is Posada’s and my favorite Italian restaurant was Portofino in a

Dallas suburb.

I hate unloading the dishwasher. I had to do that every afternoon when I got home from school and now I avoid it. Luckily my

husband is retired and does most of the housework.

My most prized possessions is my wedding ring—I would be devastated if I lost it, and some of my grandparent’s belongings like

my grandfather’s pocket watch.

If I had 30 minutes to spare I would read first, then play a game to clear my mind. (you know those facebook games that get you

hooked)

Employment History:

I am the Retention & Development Manager for Crest Industries and have been here for 5 years. I have been in a training and

development role for many years and enjoy meeting and working with new people. I especially like learning and teaching soft-

ware applications and did that for several years.

“Worry is for those without faith”.

Option 3: Include a blurb in newsletter

Suggested Headline: Register today for La. Job Connection; Site opens to job seekers Aug. 18!

Louisiana Job Connection, which opened to employers in June, will go live to job seekers on Aug. 18, bolstered by a nationwide

marketing campaign.

Employers who have not already registered are encouraged to do so today on LouisianaJobConnection.com. The process only

takes a few minutes but requires a company’s federal and state tax IDs.

Human Resource Managers who have tested the free site are excited about what it will mean for their companies’ recruitment

efforts.

Louisiana Job Connection is a fantastic tool, particularly the job scraping feature. At any time, Crest

Industries is managing an average of 20 job openings in fields such as engineering and manufactur-

ing. At our company’s current rate of growth, this is likely to increase. We will take advantage of any

tool that can place us at a strategic advantage by helping us to find key candidates and consuming

less time.
