Message

I hope you have all at least started thinking about your entry for the Veteran’s show. I say this because I am just starting mine! The pro-spectus is enclosed with the newsletter and we hope you will all be ready for the show in November. We will also be needing volunteers to help distribute our flyers to the local businesses. If you are interested in helping please let us know.

As previously men-tioned, Glynmary has of-fered to set up a display with photos of our mem-bers who served or who have family members who served or are cur-rently serving in the Mil-itary. This will be our tribute to members with military ties. Snapshots are okay and you don’t have to be in dress uni-forms.

Meet the Artists Sept 15, 2012 —1-3 PM

The Guild had a good turn-out for August’s Meet the Artists at Sierra Vista Mall. We had a lot of foot traffic and I think Alice also sold some cards. This is an op-portunity for you as an art-ist to meet your public. As you can see a wide variety of set ups was encouraged. There will be another one next month on the 3rd Sat-

urday of September (Sept 15, 2012) from 1 – 3 pm. Gail will have window 1079 (across from the CAG gallery open as a staging area for artists who need to make multiple trips out to their cars to bring in their display. We will be setting up in the same area of the mall. Meet the Artists is open to both Artists and photographers who want to be a part of the event. The mall has no objection to

you setting up a table to display your work, sell cards or prints, and

would especially like for you to actively paint, draw or other-wise talk about or demonstrate your art.

Pick of the Month is the Guild’s way of supporting our members ef-forts. We need at least 7 paintings to award 3 places, so please participate! We’d like to see what you’ve been working on! Don’t forget to bring your art

to the meeting! We would love to see your work. Classwork is acceptable too.

WEB-SITE NEWS

Our new website is still under construction, but

you can go and look at it: www.clovisartguild.com

Are you worried about posting your work on the internet? There is a way for you to check

who is using images of your art on the web. Google recently launched a new service called

"Reverse Image Search" http://ow.ly/6sBSL - simply drag an image of your work into the

search box and the search engine will find everywhere on the web that your image appears.

You can then contact the owner of the site and ask them where they got permission to post

your work and ask them to take it down if necessary. Pretty awesome tool to help artists pro-

tect their work!
