TRANSCRIPT
January was a great start to a new year. The Oyster and
Crab feed were excellent.. The Seattle boat show was a
blast. Thanks to everyone that planned and worked
their tails off to host these events. The superbowl par-
ty was a very well attended event. Thanks to the
Grimes and Mark Cope for all the work selling squares
and installing the 75” TV. It made watching the super-
bowl a whole lot better. I look forward to the St. Pat-
rick’s party and casino coming up March 15th.
As a reminder again, please be sure to get your insurance
policies for your boat and/or boathouse to the club so we
can keep them on record.
Be very careful on the docks there has been a lot of snow and ice.
Thanks to Sal and Mary Beltran for taking the traveling CIYC Burgee to Beijing, China.
Happy Boating……Dan

CIYC NEW MEMBER
Please welcome new member, David Young, voted in at the February 2014
General Membership meeting.
Please use the metal, heavy duty dock carts (located in the haul out) for any construction materials or de-
bris. The fiberglass and plastic dock carts are not meant for the heavy construction use. Please clean out
any debris from the carts after you use them. Remember to return the carts to the top of the ramp immedi-
ately after using them.
If the dumpster is full, DO NOT stack garbage in front of the dumpster, the garbage driver will not move it
and it just gets spread all around the dumpster area creating a big mess. If you find the dumpster is full
please take your trash to the dumpster near the boat ramp.
Please keep your dogs on a leash at all times around the club and on the docks. Also please clean up after
your pet!
Members are responsible for security around the club, if you see anyone you don’t recognize, introduce
yourself and find out who they are. Do not loan out your keys to anyone, guests are allowed on the docks
only when you are present, you are responsible for your guests.

Jim Sarpolus….. Jimbo and Anna Sedgwick…Cruise/Fleet Captains
Matt and Jenee Worman...Entertainment Committee Chairpersons
Past Events in January: January 11, 2014… 10:00 am Cruise and Entertainment planning meeting…. Member attendance and participation turned
out a good plan of events for this next year. The events are listed and posted on the board with dates and Hosts. We also have the RYC events highlighted in yellow for your reference.
January 17, 2014… Fri. Night Bar-B-Que w/Oysters, Hosted by Buxbaum’s and their committee members January 18, 2014…. Crab Feed, Hosted by Buxbaum’s and their committee members
Both the Oyster night and the Crab Feed turnout was a super success. Lead Hostess, Joyce Buxbaum did an excellent job of planning and organizing the event along with her committee members and all the volunteers that helped. Joyce had help from so many of the members that it is hard to list them all but of them were Jeffrey’s, Lomax’s, McCue’s, Worman’s, Coie’s, Grimes…..the list goes on and on….
January 25th and 26th, 2014…. Seattle Boat Show, Hosted by Dan and Tiff Coffland, Lomax’s and Jeffrey’s. This was another super fun event..The bus trip was a blast with Roy, Jeff and Dan working up and down the aisle of the bus
delivering food and drink as fast as Tiffany and Lisa’s could stuff the trays with goodies.... I think it was said Roy and Jeff may have lost 5 lbs working so hard and with all that running up and down the aisle.
Once again, we want to thank all our Hosts and their committees on these events!! Their efforts and the club participa-tion is what make our outings a wonderful success. (It can’t be done without ALL of you!)
See the flyers in the newsletter and posted on the board for details. Email reminders will be sent out too. February 2, 2014 …Chili Cook-off and Super Bowl Party, Hosted by Buxbaum’s, Bowen’s and Kuga’s. First place Chili was presented to Art Marino, one of Mark Cope’s guests. Second Place went to Kathie Bunn Third Place went to Wendy McCue The Super Bowl was terrific because the 12th man was here in the club house…Unfortunately the Broncos were a no show!!! The food spread was one of the best the members and guests put out and the membership pitched in to help with the clean up…boy what a night!!
Upcoming Events to plan for in February: February 8, 2014… Richland Yacht Club Chili Cook Off
Reminder: It is extremely important, when applicable, to sign up early to help in the planning for the food and entertainment to support events. Contact the event host with the number in your party that will attend.
Upcoming Events to plan for in March 2014:
March 15, 2014…. St.Patrick’s Day Party/Casino Night…Hosted by Sarpolus/Sedgwick/Lomax/Cunningham and Hendline’s March 22, 2014…. Spring Work Party…Hosted by the Board March 29, 2014… CCA Banquet at the TRACK…talking about shore and fish preservation ...Brad Schilperoort
