What is it?

Cloud Computing is
a one kind of computing that relies on sharing computing resources
(like software, application, information)
over through Internet.
![Page 6: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)

Requirements for Cloud Computing

8
Types of cloud…..
Public Cloud
Private Cloud
Hybrid Cloud
![Page 9: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
9
Public Cloudis defined as a multi-client environment, where you buy a “server slice” in a cloud computing environment that is shared with a number of other clients .
![Page 10: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
10
Private Cloud is a single-client environment where the hardware, storage and network are dedicated to a single client or company.
![Page 11: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
11
Hybrid CloudCombination of two of the above, they remain unique entities but are bound together by standardised technologies.
![Page 12: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
12
Types of cloud computing services....
1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
2. Platform as a Service (PaaS)
3. Software as a Service (SaaS)
![Page 13: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)

![Page 14: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
14
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
This is the foundation, or “base layer,” of cloud computing, and includes physical infrastructure such as servers, storage disks, and facilities. Organizations benefit from pay-as-you-go, on-demand storage and web hosting, which can be easily scaled bigger or smaller as need.
![Page 15: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
15
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
This “middle layer” of cloud computing provides the operating system from which applications run. Here, the service operator provides a programming language and web server, which allows application developers to create and run their software solutions.
![Page 16: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
16
Software as a Service (SaaS)
Finally, at the “top layer,” we find software applications specifically developed for the internet. Here, consumers generally pay a monthly or yearly fee in order to use a certain software in the cloud. Example Google Apps (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs)
![Page 17: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
17
Back Story
Computers have internal or hard drive storage(C: Drive).
Content is stored on THAT computer.
To use content must return to THAT computer.
Cannot access this content from another device or computer.
For Storage
![Page 18: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
18
For Programs
Purchase programs.
Load to the computer.
Each computer would need the program loaded and stored on the internal drive.
![Page 19: Cloud computing presentation](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061109/54518491af795909428b497f/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Today StoryCloud Storage• Create an Account – User name and password.
• Log-in to the online storage account and Click upload a file.
• Find the file on hard drive, network, or external storage.
• Upload to cloud storage.
• Content lives with the account in the cloud.
• Access your content from anywhere from any computer at any time.

Some Example..

21
Why Cloud Computing…. Client would be able to access applications and data from anywhere at any time. It could bring hardware costs down. Cloud computing systems would reduce the need for advanced hardware on the client side.
Compatible with most computers and operating systems.
The device does not need as large of an internal storage system.
Client don’t worry about maintenance charge.
