This cloud computing is an introduction to the terms, characteristics, and services associated with internet-based computing, commonly referred to as cloud computing. Characteristics, such as infrastructure, provisioning, network access, and managed metering are presented.

DEFINITION:

Cloud computing is a term that applies to applications and data storage that are delivered over the Internet or via wireless technology. The individual user's device (i.e. computer, cell phone, etc.) only provides an interface to interact with the computer programs and data. The programs are run on the service provider's computers and the data is stored where ever the provider deems necessary. This way the applications and associated data are available where ever you have a connection to the Internet or wireless network.

ARCHITECTURE:

SERVICE CATEGORIES:

IAAS: Infrastructure as a service.

In the most basic cloud-service model, providers of IAAS offer computers physical or (more often) virtual machines and other resources.PAAS: platform as a service.

In the PAAS models, cloud providers deliver a computing platform typically including operating system, programming language execution environment, database, and web server.SAAS: software as a service.

In the SAAS model, cloud providers install and operate application software in the cloud and cloud users access the software from cloud clients. Cloud users do not manage the cloud infrastructure and platform where the application runs.

TYPES:

Private cloud

Public cloud

Hybrid cloud

CHARACTERISTICS:

Application programming interface(API)ReliabilityElasticityADVANTAGES:Mobility

Only pay for what you want

Reduce capital cost

Improve accessibility

Minimize licensing new software

DISADVANTAGES: 1. Lack of security

2. Technical issues

CONCLUSION:

Cloud computing is the fastest growing part of IT. Tremendous benefits to all sizes. Key opportunity for application and infrastructure vendors. Economic environment is accelerating adoption of cloud solutions
