Two anniversaries—one sad and one
happy. The sad one is the 15th anni-
versary of September 11, 2001 when 19 jihadi terrorists
hijacked and flew commercial airliners into New
York’s twin towers and into the Pentagon. Lives were
also lost when American Airlines Flight 93 crashed into
a Pennsylvania field that same day. In all, 2,996 people
died on 9/11. The world has never been the same since,
and will never be again!
Since then, almost 30,000 deadly attacks have been
carried out around the world, each one motivated by
hatred and a false conception of God. The only thing
that will ever erase the hatred, and the only thing that
will ever bring lasting peace is the gospel of Jesus
Christ. He is the only answer to the sin that is at the
heart of all the hate-filled violence in our world. Pray
that God will use you individually, and all of us
collectively, to communicate the love of God through
Christ to the world.
The other anniversary is a happy one. September 9,
1972, I married the sweetest girl in the world! For 44
years she has been my delight, my joy, my inspiration,
my partner, my love. If the world could experience
even a fraction of the love she has given me there
would never again be another 9/11.
Vision statement: Rural Hill will be a warm, caring, and
accepting church that raises up a Christian community and nourishes spiritual maturity.
Wilfredo Salvatierra Hispanic Minister
¡No tengan miedo! No teman.
No

Baby Shower
You are invited to a baby shower for Amber (Demonbreun) Albright
TODAY, September 11, from 12:30 to 2:00 in the fellowship hall.
Amber and Daniel have registered for their baby boy at Babies R Us and Target.
The Singing Class ... ...will not meet today since Jon and many of our teens are on the youth retreat.
During his time of service, Ray quietly worked behind the
scenes recruiting teachers for each quarter, checking on
needs in each class room on Sunday mornings, finding a
last minute sub if necessary, or walking the halls with a
toddler in his arms who needed extra special attention.
We deeply appreciate his years of dedicated service and
Oneda’s loving support of this work. Ray has resigned his
position as deacon due to some health limitations and
also needing more flexibility for occasionally visiting their
children and grandchildren in East Tennessee. Their
example of faithfulness is an inspiriation to us all.
Portraits have arrived! If you had your picture made for the upcoming directory, you may stop at the table in the foyer to pick yours up. Directories will arrive at a later date once the layout and printing process is complete. Thank you for your participation.
This past Sunday, we were
privileged to recognize Ray
and Oneda Edmundson for
the 28 years that Ray has
been deacon of the educa-
tional department.
