Clocked Out Episode 3 1

Back at the table, Max and Ed stand up to hug Carrie. Ed stumbles over hischair. Becca and Lisa follow suit, feeling obligated. Lisa farts as she rises from her chair. A round of awkward hugging ensues.

Everyone sits CU - CARRIE: Ok, thanks everyone for your concern. I appreciate it. Now can we go back to acting normal. I just want to forget about it for a little while and pretend that I have a normal life.

Elliot gets back from the bar with drinks for Carrie andHeidi.

The bartender brings over a tray of shots to the table.BARTENDER: Hey y’all. I know something’s wrongover here, I don’t know what it is, but these are on the house. Hope they help.

CU - Everyone asking Carrie how she’s coping, sharing kind words. ED: Yeah girl. God has a plan for all of us.HEIDI: Yes I do, and my plan is to get this girl drunk as hell.

CU - HEIDI: See, my plan is already working. CU - ED: God Dammit!HEIDI: Bite your tongue before I spite you with my wrath.

The gang reaches for the shots as the tension begins tolift. They raise their glasses in the middle to toast.ED: To Carrie! They clink glasses together and Ed’s shot drops out of his hand onto the table and spills everywhere.


LISA: Let’s play a little pool tournament. Becca and I’ll be a team and we’ll play against Tim and Elliot. Then Heidi and Carrie can be a team and play against Max and Ed. And the winner’s will play each other for the title.

CU - MAX: Wo, did you just think of all of that? Who are you? Dick Vitale?TIM: Yeah, it’s like March Madness up in this joint. It’s ON!

MONTAGE - POOL TOURNEY: GAME ONE Tim and Elliot play Lisa and Becca.

MONTAGE - POOL TOURNEY: GAME ONE Ed, Max, Heidi and Carrie take a shot while watching

CU - ELLIOT to ED: You know you can’t win this game right? You have to let Heidi and Carrie win. You know, to make Carrie feel better. ED: I don’t really think we have to tryto let them win, they will probably kick our ass.

MONTAGE - POOL TOURNEY: GAME ONE Tim and Elliot beat Lisa and Becca, game ends with awkward hi-fives.

Carrie is drunk and carefree, almost as if she’s completely forgotten the fact that she’s been fired. Carrie and Heidi are hugging and laughing. Ed and Max approach to congratulate them with awkward hi-fives. The stage is set for the final.

Elliot and Carrie play Paper, Rock, Scissors while Tim racks. Elliot covers Carries hand and they make eye contact briefly. Tim looks up from racking the balls and sees this tender moment.

ELLIOT (whispers): Tim, they win, no matter what. Ok?TIM: Of course no matter what, I know.

Tim finally misses a shot. Carrie takes the cue stick andmakes a lucky shot. Carrie and Heidi start gigglingexcitedly.

Tim makes a bunch of shots, he’s never played so well as nowwhen he’s trying to throw the match. Elliot coughs to gethis attention. Tim looks over and shrugs looking puzzled. Carrie and Heidi keep shouting “YOU SUCK!”

CU - Tim gets angry. Elliot misses the shot, Tim gets more angry.TIM: Oh, come on Elliot, how can you miss that?ELLIOT: I just did. Calm down.

Carrie misses the next shot and set’s up an easy shot forElliot.


MONTAGE - POOL TOURNEY: GAME TWO Carrie sinks the 8 ball to win the game.

CU - Elliot jumps in to diffuse the situation.TIM: Our turn, you didn’t call bank.HEIDI: What? Shut up. I don’t even know what that means.TIM: If you hit the ball off the side of the table into the pocket, you have to tell us that you are trying to do that.

Elliot drags Tim to the Bar. ELLIOT: Dude, what’s wrong with you? TIM: What do you mean what’s wrong with me? They keep taunting me. I hate that.ELLIOT: Dude, it’s just a game and we’re here to make Carrie feel better. TIM: OK, sorry.

The gang takes a shot. And the game continues with Heiditaking the next shot. Tim approaches Carrie. TIM; Hey, sorry, I got a little out of hand. CARRIE: Yeah, what was that? Pretty gross. TIM: Yeah, I know. I hope we’re still cool.

Tim buys another round of shots as a peace offering. TIM: Round of shots for everyone. Sorry I got a little OOC. I’m better now.


Heidi misses her next shot. HEIDI: Here Tim, you can have your stick now. Happy?

Tim, head hanging low, takes the cue stick and continues the game, missing his first shot.

Carrie sinks the 8 ball to win the game. ALL THE GIRLS: Yay! Yes! (chanting)Girls rule, boys drool!

The girls all gather around Carrie and give her a group hug.She’s a rock star. Carrie’s world starts spinning. She breaks out of the circle and runs to the bathroom holding her hand over her mouth.

CARRIE: I’m so sorry, I never do this. HEIDI: Don’t even sweat it. You’ve had an extremely tough week and I’m not a judging God. CARRIE: Gawd, shut the fuck up. HEIDI: Well played. Drink this fucking water before I turn it into wine.

Heidi follows Carrie to the bathroom.

Carrie drinks some water, stands up, brushes herself off andnotices her sweatshirt is soaked. As Carrie and Heidi walk out of the bathroom, Carrie takes off her sweatshirt to reveal she’s still wearing her name tag.

Carrie sits by herself at the bar in a pant suit, trying notto cry into her empty glass of beer. She keeps checking hercell phone, all the while realizing she has nothing tocheck. The bartender notices and tries to brighten the mood.

BARTENDER: Do you want another drink? Looks like its been a rough day. CARRIE Yeah, you could say that.BARTENDER: What can I get you? This one’s on the house.

Carrie’s phone vibrates. She grabs her phone from the bar.It’s a text from Heidi.

CU - Phone: It reads “We’ll be a little late. Hope you’re not there yet.” This opens another spout of tears.

Cut to the Front Door, Tim enters, sees Carrie and quickly thinks about turning around. He thinks again and cautiously approaches. Carrie and the bartender still do not notice him.

The Bartender comes back with drinks. BARTENDER: Cheers, hon. Here’s to better days.CARRIE: (half crying, half smiling) Please. And thank you.

Tim approaches, Bartender exits. TIM: Hey, um. Hey Carrie. Carrie tries to compose herself. CARRIE: Tim. Hey, what are you doing here? TIM: Same as you, came to share a drink with my peeps. Tim apologizes for being a jerk during the pool tournament last week.

Tim and Carrie share a heart to heart, Tim opens up about visiting his sick grandmother, Carrie opens up about her trials and tribulation looking for a new job.


Tim orders more shots. TIM: So, five interviews in two weeks. That’s pretty good. How’d you swing that? CARRIE: Oh, my sister told me to get in touch with this temp agency. They’re setting them all up.

CU - TIM: Oh, well that’s smart. CARRIE: Yeah, she always was one.

Bartender brings the drinks. Carrie cracks a smile and punches Tim in the arm.CARRIE: Stop it. You’re making me blush.TIM: That just might be the two shots you just took.

TIM: (to the bartender) Thanks. I’ll start a tab.(to Carrie) Well, I guess that makes you the cute one.

Carrie asks Tim about why he was being a jerk last week. He confesses. TIM: Well, honestly, I got jealous.CARRIE: Jealous? Of what?

TIM: I saw you and Elliot touching hands, locking eyes, having a moment.

CARRIE Huh? When? I don’t remember any moment.TIM: It was right before we started playing pool when you guys rock, paper, scissored to see who was going to break. Wow, now that I say it out loud, it sounds a little ridiculous.


CARRIE: Oh, yeah. Wow. Yeah. I remember that now. And you are being ridiculous. TIM: Yeah, I know. But he does have a crush on you. I can tell.

CARRIE: And that made you jealous? TIM: Yeah.CARRIE: And you went into a mad rage? TIM: Yeah. Sorry.

Carrie stares straight into Tim’s eyes. She puts her hand onhis. CARRIE: Tim, you’re an idiot. TIM: What? Jesus, shut up. You’re so mean.

Their heads lean in closer to each other. CARRIE: Really? You think I’m mean? TIM: Yeah. and you think I’m an idiot? CARRIE: Yeah. I do.They kiss.

The door to the bar opens. Elliot enters and the first thinghe sees is this kiss.


Tim and Carrie are kissing at the bar. Elliot enters the front door and sees them. He quickly turns around and exits, SLAMMING THE DOOR.

CARRIE: What was that?TIM: I don’t know.

Bartender Enters. BARTENDER: Wow, that was classy. What’s wrong with your friend? CARRIE: I don’t know. Who was it? BARTENDER: Oh, I don’t remember his name, thequiet one. TIM: Fuck. Elliot.

CU - MAX: Hey man, where you goin? ELLIOT: Huh? Oh, hey. Um, yeah, I’m going home. I’m not feeling happy hourtonight.

EXTERIOR - BAR: Elliot is murmuring to himself as he quickly walks towards his car. Ed and Max are walking towards the bar. They see Elliot, but he doesn’t see them.

ED: Then why did you come in the first place? ELLIOT: Um, I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. MAX: You’re right. I don’t matter, so turn around and come with us.

More harassing ensues, then Elliot spills the beans about seeing Tim and Carrie kissing at the bar.

INTERIOR - BAR: Tim, Carrie, Heidi, Lisa, and Becca are all gathered at the bar ordering drinks and complimenting Carrie on her snazzy pant suit.


The front door opens to reveal Ed and Max. Slowly lagging behind them is Elliot.

Elliot approaches the group, slowly, sure to avoid eyecontact. The gang takes their ceremonial first shot.

Tim approaches Elliot. Ed takes notice. TIM: Hey man. Can I talk to you, maybe outside? ELLIOT: Huh? No. Thanks.Elliot walks away towards the pool table. ED: Tim, don’t push it. Let’s go play some pool. He’ll talk to you whenhe’s ready.

Ed brings Elliot a drink as he stands by the pool table byhimself. Max and Tim follow. MAX: I’ll rack. Me and Tim versus. TIM: Cool with me. ED: Me too. Elliot?

Elliot walks towards an unoccupied table. Max, Ed, and Tim look at each other perplexed and agree without words to follow Elliot. Ed, Max, and Tim pull up a chair and sit at the table with Elliot. Elliot is beginning to get annoyed.

CU - ELLIOT: No thanks. You guys go ahead. I need to sit for a bit. Elliot exits.

They sit in silence until Elliot can’t take it anymore and exits.ELLIOT: I’m going to get another drink. Try not to follow me.TIM: Elliot... I’m...Elliot is too far away to hear the apology.

Lisa, Becca, Carrie, and Heidi are playing Shuffle Board. HEIDI: How’d the interview go today? CARRIE: Oh, it went pretty well, I think. I wouldn’t be surprised if they call me next week to offer me the job. (She’s lying)

The Shuffle board game ends. Lisa and Becca turn their attention to Heidi and Carrie. Becca notices Elliot sitting at the bar by himself.


BECCA: Hey, what’s up with Elliot? He was weird when he walked in and he’s sitting by himself at the bar looking lost.HEIDI: I don’t know. But yeah, that is weird. Why aren’t they playing pool?

CU - Carrie tugs Heidi’s shirt. CARRIE: I gotta go to the little ladies room.Carrie tugs Heidi’s shirt again.HEIDI: Oh, yeah. Me too.

INTERIOR - BATHROOM: Heidi follows Carrie into the bathroom. They look into the mirror and turn on the faucets to wash their hands.

INTERIOR - AT THE BAR: Elliot sitting himself. INTERIOR - AT THE BAR: ELLIOT: Can I get an Anchor Steam. BARTENDER: Sure. Is everything ok now? Youknow, the door and all? You scared the shit out of everyone here. ELLIOT: Oh, I’m so sorry. Yeah. It’s fine.

INTERIOR - BATHROOM: HEIDI What? What happened?CARRIE: Oh my god, I’m so stupid. HEIDI: What did you do Carrie? CARRIE: I was here alone, then Tim showedup, and... HEIDI: And what? CARRIE: And we...

INTERIOR - BATHROOM: CARRIE: And we kissed.HEIDI SCREAMS: HOLY SHIIII

INTERIOR - AT THE BAR: Heidi’s scream “IIIIIIITTTTTTT!”ELLIOT: Better make it a beer and a shot.

INT - THE BAR - LATERThe usual happy hour crowd is in the bar. The few localsthat sit by themselves minding their own business. Anunknown female sits with her back to the camera.

BARTENDER: Ok, grab a glass, fill it with ice and bring it over here. The off screen character walks into the frame to reveal Carrie.

CU - CARRIE: Here you go. Bartender shows Carrie how to make a tequila sunrise. CARRIE: What do we do with it now? BARTENDER: You’re gonna make yourself one and then we’re gonna have our first drink of the night. CARRIE: I hate that I love this job.


BARTENDER: Uh, so, have you told your old coworkers you started working here? CARRIE: No, not yet. I wanted to surprise them.BARTENDER: Well, they should be here any...

INT - THE FRONT DOORThe rest of the gang enters the bar.

INT - THE BAR CARRIE: Talk about timing. Holy shit.Carrie falls to her feet, ducking behind the counter to hidefrom everyone.

INT - THE BAR - The group finally turns their attention to the bar to take a gander at their options. Carrie is still trying to hide. Heidi notices her on the floor.

CU - CARRIE.CARRIE: Yup. It’s my first day. Whatta ya have? HEIDI: And you already have a catch phrase? Nailed it girl!

HEIDI: Oh, hey Car. You’re early. I didn’t think you’d be here yet. CARRIE: Nope, I’m here. Surprise! The gang doesnt’ quite understand what’s going on yet.

INT - THE BAR - LATERThe group settles in at the bar after taking their first shot and accepting Carrie as their now-bartender.

LISA: So, it was strange today, Sara asked me about happy hour. BECCA: Oh yeah, that’s right, you told me that at lunch. That’s weird. HEIDI: What did she say? Are they coming?LISA: No, at least I don’t think so.

LISA: I think she feels bad about firing Carrie, I think she just wanted to make sure that you are OK.CARRIE: Yeah, well, I’m just peachy.


The front door opens again, Tim and Elliot enter. They’regetting along now. As they approach the group, they freezeas they notice Carrie behind the bar.

TIM: Wo, Wo, Wo, what do we have here? Do we now have an in behind the bar? It looks like we do! Free Drinks All Around! Yeah! CARRIE Hey guys. Yup, surprise. I’m now a bartender. Well, bar back officially, but she doesn’t care if I pour drinks.

Elliot mentions he got a raise and the gang wants the rich boy to buy them shots. BECCA: Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots!LISA: Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots! ELLIOT: Sure. Shots on me. Carrie surprise us. Well, again.

INT- THE BAR - LATER The guys have went to play pool. Becca and Lisa grab a high top and are talking about the wedding again. Heidi is still sitting at the bar.

CU - HEIDI: That’s crazy. Just think, if you hadn’t gotten fired, you couldn’t even think about dating him. You know, with Matthew and Sara’s dating policy. CARRIE: Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Guess it is a good thing.

HEIDI: So, how was your week? CARRIE: Not bad, I got this job. That’s progress. HEIDI: Yeah. And did you talk to Tim at all? CARRIE: Actually, we went on a real date. It was kind of sweet.

INT - THE POOL TABLE - LATERED: Congratulations on that raise Elliot. I’m proud of you.ELLIOT: Thanks Ed, I appreciate that. It’s been a long time coming. TIM: To Elliot. A consummate professional.

THE BAR - LATER Tim finishes his beer and exits to the bar to get another round.

Heidi exits to let the Carrie and Tim have a minute.


Elliot keeps fighting himself from checking out Tim andCarrie from the pool table.

CARRIE: Want to hear my new bartender catch phrase? TIM: You know it. Lay it on me. CARRIE: (clears her throat) Whatta ya have? TIM: I need 3 beers. And what’s the catch phrase? CARRIE: That is the catch phrase. TIM: What is?

CU - CARRIE: How’s this? Whatta ya have? TIM: Better, keep working on it. CARRIE: God, shut up.

CU - TIM: Tim grabs Carries hand over the bar.TIM: I’m only kidding around. I love it. It’s very sexy.

Ed gets up to demonstate something. They begin talking about rearranging products at work to fit like a puzzle.

INT - THE BAR - LATERThe gang sits around the corner of the bar, all togetheragain, talking about work.

HEIDI: Like a Tetris puzzle. That’ll be fun. CARRIE: Oh I...ELLIOT: I freakin’ love Tetris. CARRIE: Me too!Elliot blushes.

CARRIE: I so don’t miss all that drama at work. Carrie exits to wait on another customer.

HEIDI: I bet she really does. Things have been pretty rough for her the past few weeks. She’d come back in a heartbeat if she could. LISA: Really? You think so? TIM: Yeah, I think so too.


INT - FRONT DOOR: The front door swings open fast and loud. Matthew and Sara enter consumed in each other.

INT - THE BAR: Once again,Carrie flips out and hits the floor. She tries to sneak out towards the bathroom. But Matthew and Sara see her.

SARA: There she is, Carrie, come here girl, where are you going? CARRIE: Um, nowhere, I uh... MATTHEW: Hey girl, come over here. We miss you.

Sara grabs Carrie and brings her in for an awkward hug. Sarareleases, Carrie slowly drifts back towards the bar. Whensome space is created, she starts moving faster to regainher post behind the bar. Matthew and Sara are perplexed.

BARTENDER: What’s up with those two? Who are they? CARRIE: Oh, they’re my old bosses. They own the company.BARTENDER: Oh, that explains a lot.

CU - CARRIE AND SARA: OFF SCREEN: BARTENDER: Carrie, hon, can you give me a hand?CARRIE: Yeah, sure. Carrie Exits.

Matthew and Sara slowly approach the bar near Carrie. SARA: Are you um...working here now? CARRIE: Yup. Tonight’s my first shift. MATTHEW: Oh, wow. That’s unexpected. CARRIE: Yeah. It’s surprising for me too.

CU - SARA: So, our business is changing and we’re trying to get more online sales.

CU - CARRIE: Makes sense.


SARA: So, we need someone to take a leading role in that department. MATTHEW: Yes, Carrie, and we want you to doit.

Carrie drops the beer Tim ordered on the floor. SARA: You’re perfect. You already know our product so well, you just need some training with our website.MATTHEW: We’ll, of course, you’ll be getting a hefty raise.

CU - SARA: What do you think? Will you come back? Tim reaches into his pocket and reveals he has Carrie’s name tag.

Carrie looks around to see everyone staring at her in expectation. She locks eyes with Tim, they exchange a look of concern.
