About our Institution

The National Institute of Ayurveda was established on 7th February 1976 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The Institute is first of its kind in India having a national character and international reputation.

NIA is an apex Institute under the Department of AYUSH for promoting the growth and development of Ayurveda as a model Institute for evolving high standards of teaching, training, research and patient care and also to invoke scientific outlook to the knowledge of Ayurvedic System of Medicine.

Background of WorkshopCancer is a leading cause of death around the world. According to World

Health Organization (WHO), 84 million people died due to cancer between 2005 and 2015. According to the National Cancer Registry Programme of the India and Council of Medical Research (ICMR), more than 1300 Indians die every day due to Cancer.

Ayurveda store of medicine and so many Ayurvedic physician are here who are doing clinical practice on cancer across the India. The most of physician and students of Ayurveda fell lack of exposure and confidence on cancer therapy. Keeping this fact in mind, this workshop is planned to give exposure of practice based cancer therapy in Ayurveda in current scenario by expert & eminent senior physicians of Ayurveda who are involved in cancer care through Ayurveda.Aims & Objectives• To give the information about exposure of clinical practice in cancer in

Ayurveda.• To enhance the clinical experiences regarding cancer therapy in Ayurveda.• To discuss on evidence based clinical practices by eminent senior physicians

of India.
