The focus of this much requested pediatric program is to meet the KBN

requirements as well as to provide current information on critical issues in

general pediatric nursing practice across all settings.

Learning Outcome: Attendees will be able to apply current pediatric evidence

based care information in pediatric nursing practice across all settings.

Objectives:

Employ orthopedic nursing assessment and treatment

Appraise pediatric non-accidental trauma patient needs

Manage pediatric patient medication needs

Describe pediatric patient needs related to allergy problems

Discuss care for youth, related to mental health issues

Define nursing care for pediatric oncology patients

Demonstrate compassion preventing compassion fatigue

Target Audience: All nurses, RNs, APRNs, and other health care providers for

pediatric patients in both acute and primary care

Accreditation

The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of

continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s

Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

This educational activity is offered for a maximum of 7.25 ANCC contact

hours.

The Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) approves The University of Kentucky,

College of Nursing (UKCON) as a provider as well. This educational activity

is offered for a maximum of 8.7 KBN contact hours. Provider number:

3-0008-12-21-0012. ANCC and KBN approval of a continuing nursing

education provider does not constitute endorsement of program content nor

commercial sponsors. The University of Kentucky does not approve

commercial products. In order to receive credit, participants complete CNE

activity, complete the evaluation form and submit a credit application online.

Certificates may be printed once the evaluation is completed.

Disclosure

All faculty members participating in continuing education programs

sponsored by the University of Kentucky, College of Nursing are expected to

disclose any real or perceived conflict of interest related to the content of their

presentations. Faculty disclosures will be included in the program materials.

Registration Rate

Registration fee includes attending the conference, lite breakfast, boxed lunch,

continuing nursing education contact hours, and access to conference

materials. Materials will be provided online.

Credit card payment types include Visa and MasterCard.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

A full refund, less a $25 processing fee, will be issued for all cancellations

received or postmarked at least one week prior to the course date. No refunds

are issued thereafter.

Cancellations received the day of the course are not eligible for a refund.

UK College of Nursing Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel a

course when circumstances are warranted. In such a case, a full refund will be

issued. UK College of Nursing is not responsible for hotel, plane, car, or other

such fees.
