Our First Clinic – Lafayette, CO
Founded by Alicia Sanchez – single mother of 7 children, no high school education, living with Lupus
Opened 1977 – During first year, saw 500 patients on a budget of $75,000 with six employees
Patient Population in First Year – Migrant farm workers, low-income locals, predominantly people needing acute care, adults with high blood pressure and pregnant women.

• Provided care to 3,201 homeless patients in 2010• Full-time homeless outreach nurse• On-site care at day shelter, overnight homeless shelter, churches that serve dinner• In conjunction with hospital and homeless shelter, developed a nursing respite program for homeless post-hospitalization
