Listen as Mike describes the benefits to his regional market that are found in the delivery of concrete homes. His presentation will feature information on HVAC, framing, windows, plumbing, finishes and trim and just why the basement walls are designed as they are by codes.

speed networking - CFA styleOur own version of “speed dating”, line-up and get ready to meet a bunch of your peers in short order. This was one of the most highly-regarded sessions during the 2010 Convention.
don’t Hire LUZIrs: best practices in Hiring with David WhitlockAs the economy begins to improve, it is vital that employers not lose sight of the importance of basic HR functions. The recession has taught most employers to do much more with fewer employees. That makes the hiring process even more important today than ever before. And now is the worst possible time to suffer an employment-related disaster. One way to avoid that is not to hire the LUZIRS -- Lazy, Undisciplined, Zero-Interest, Irresponsible, Rude, Slackers. In this entertaining and informative session, we will emphasize best practices in hiring and on-boarding to ensure that you do everything possible to not hire the LUZIRS.
oops, I’ve Got LUZIrs, What do I do now??: employee discipline and Termination with David WhitlockToday, employers have learned the hard way to get more done with fewer people. Employees by and large have responded well to the increased demands placed upon them, even though they now have to work harder and get more done. Because of these increased pressures employee morale is often very fragile. As a result, it is more important than ever for you to get rid of the LUZIRS -- Lazy, Undisciplined, Zero-Interest, Irresponsible, Rude, Slackers -- in your organization. This session will emphasize practices in discipline and termination of employees. Learn how to get rid of LUZIRS and avoid employment-related disasters.

Non-business companions to Convention are considered any individual that will be included in the meals offered during the daily schedule. You do not need to register as an attendee to participate in the evening social events (separate fee).
SPECIAL EVENTS (separate fee)CFA has designed three evening events this year to get you networked with your peers at a budget that all can afford. You won’t want to miss these pinnacle events.
On Thursday evening you are invited to join your Convention companions for Dinner & Fun at the Discovery Ridge Adventure Center. In traditional CFA fashion, we have tailored an evening of fun and barbecue for you. Your participation at this great event includes a traditional grill fare dinner menu and a host of fun-filled activities. $65 adults, $35 children 3-12 yrs.
On Friday evening you are invited to a Virginia Cookout on the Winter-green Resort Patio. Come and enjoy the vistas that the Smokey Mountains provide on the expansive patio at Wintergreen Resort. We will provide the food and the beverages, you will provide the entertainment as you continue your networking for the future. $65 adults, $30 children.
On Saturday night you are invited to CFA’s Cocktails and Conversations - The Network Event. In a casual, social atmosphere, a cash bar will support your final chance to meet face to face with peers that may be your best resource for the remainder of 2011. For those that stay the duration of our event, you will find no better conclusion to a Convention than our Saturday Night Social. This casual atmosphere places a premium on settling in at a table or two and winding down the conversations for the week or starting one more to add to your already-impressive list of contacts you can count on for the year ahead.
NAME BADgES Name badges are generated for all persons registering for the Convention. Whether a company representative, a spouse, a child, a guest or an additional company person, it is important that your badge be issued for the networking that will take place as well as the identification throughout the event. Prior to the Convention you will receive confirmation about the activities you have registered to attend and the number of people you have registered. NOTE: All persons traveling to the site of the Convention should be registered with us. Badges can be picked up at the Registration Desk before the Exhibitor Reception on Thursday or Friday morning before breakfast. We encourage you to keep your badge with you at all times to help others get to know you, and for admission to CFA events.

REgISTRATION FEES INCLUDE Attendee registration covers all participation and meals from breakfast through the receptions. Please note the specific meal opportunities shown on the schedule, especially those noted as “separate fee”.
