• Effect- Temperature- a measure of how hot or cold something is.

• For every 1000 ft. the temperature drops about 3.5 degrees.

• Landforms-

• Windward side- large amounts of rainfall

• Leeward side- dry and becomes warmer

• Rain Shadow- the hot, dry result of landforms.

• Wind Patterns–Prevailing winds - winds that blow in fairly constant patterns.

–Doldrums- windless patterns near the equator.

• Ocean Currents- Cold and warm “rivers” of seawater.

–Caused by the rotation of the earth, moving air, and differences in water temperature in the ocean.
