What Does It Look Like? Student Centered Socratic Seminars Hands-on activities Collaboration
Language Arts Think about what you ate for breakfast. Write your breakfast down on a piece of
paper. Pick a partner from your table. Describe to your partner what you ate
without using “I, He, She, They”
Group Discussion Find the quote handout in package Determine which quote you agree with
the most. Go to corner that includes the quote. Discuss with group in corner. Share with class.
ScienceRaisin Activity Pick a partner from your table. Ensure you have all supplies (cup, box of raisins, cran-
raisins, straw, baggie, rice, corn, and noodles) Fill the cup 1/3 with soda. Add 10 raisins to the soda. Discuss observations with partner. Add more raisins, cran-raisins, or both to soda. Discuss observations with partner.
Questions to Ask What will happen if rice, corn or noodles will be added to
the mixture? Explain why you think some of the raisings are bubbling?
