When creating a new presentation, you can begin one of three ways:

1. using PowerPoint’s AutoContent Wizard

2. using a Design Template

3. starting with a Blank presentation.

Using the AutoContent Wizard • PowerPoint helps you quickly

create effective presentations by using Wizards.

• Remember, a Wizard asks you a series of questions about your tasks and helps you perform them.

• PowerPoint’s AutoContent Wizard lets you choose a presentation category, such as “Brainstorming Session”.

• Then, the Wizard creates several suggested slides, each with a general outline for you to follow.

Using aDesign Template • You can also

• PowerPoint provides many design templates – files that contain the colors and format of the background and the type style of the titles, accents, and other text.

Starting with aBlank Presentation

• You can also begin creatinga presentation from blank slides.

• Then, you must design the slides yourself, or later apply a design template.

Open an Existing Presentation

When you want to review, edit, or show a presentation already saved to disk, choose Open an existing presentation option.

Click your mouse to continue.

The list box may contain several presentations most recently opened on your computer.

If you scroll and find the presentation you want to open, you can simply click on the filename, and then click the OK button.

Click your mouse to continue.

If you scroll through the list box and don’t find the the presentation you want to open, simply make sure More Files is selected, and then click the OK button.

Next, the open dialog box will appear. You can then choose to open a PowerPoint file from any of your disks.
