CLI WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT WEEKLY REPORT OF FRIDAY 15TH – THURSDAY 21ST FEBRUARY 2019

CLI SPECIAL MASS ADVOCACY/MOP UP/PSP EVALUATION OF OREGUN /OLUSHOSUN

ON FRIDAY 15TH FEBRUARY, 2019

Sequel to the pre-electoral activities and proposed ‘No movement’ of Saturday 16th Feb 2019,

the entire CLI team alongside PSP coordinating unit of LAWMA and PSP within Oregun axis

carried out a mass mop up of the area. Messrs Ola Sham was deployed on intervention to

evacuate wastes on the median while Messrs Peter Bradford & Associates mopped a day before

and on Friday as well , Messrs Urban Spirit Ventures on GRA domestic evacuation, Messrs Temi

Environmental worked on onigbongbo axis, and Messrs Malib Environmental Company upon

conversation re-started waste collection at Olushosun community.

S/N ACTION TAKEN OBSERVATIONS REMARKS

No safety signs( C- cautions) for the sweepers

Shortage of implements

Entire Oregun stretch median and junctions was littered with drop of waste at intervals

The sweepers supervisor mentioned the need for Safety cones, PPEs, Implements (working tools)

Has 87 sweepers working within his jurisdiction

Call pulled to Peter Bradford to evacuate which he did

Injured street sweeper was taken to the Olusosun Health centre for immediate treatment due to several spots of bruises

High court.

3 Temi Environmental Mopped Opebi link Bridge/ Opebi road black spot as well as domestic route

PSP is effective

4 Malib Environmental Company

On communication started collection at Olusosun which had been on hold due to her complaint of thoughts of another PSP placement during the Visionscape period and request for bridging on the area.

Issues were cleared from Mr Toye upon which she was told to resume the collection from the community to prevent waste on the median as she complained on low compliance of the community and several issues of poor environmental aesthetics of the clan.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Oregun (Kudirat Abiola way) road needs effective policing of 24hrs on a daily basis to

combat the residential waste dumped at various junctions both sides of the road and

the entire stretch of the median as residents claim they aren’t going to pay PSP since

they are not collecting waste from them.

Street sweepers’ safety is very key, they need re-orientation and all their supervisors

should give a daily routine short talk on safety before work commences.

A media information be passed to Motorists/ Drivers to reduce speed at sweeper prone

areas.
