THE PROBLEM
The Project for Emerging
Nanotechnologies is the largest onlline
database of nanotechnology-related
products in the world. This information
needed to be accessibly to mobile
professionals in the nanotechnology arena,
not only for reference purposes, but to also
submit information back to the database
regarding various products.
THE SOLUTION
In plain english, the app needed to
connect to PEN’s online server, and send
inforamtion back and forth to the mobile
device.
TECH SPECS
Using JSON Restful Web Services we
connected to PEN’s database. This allows
the data in the application to be updated
via web or mobile.

THE PROBLEM
People love to tell stories around their
favorite songs and music. And remember
the days of gazing at the liner notes of your
favorite album? Until My Audio Bio, there
wasn’t a cool, interactive way to share your
favorite music stories with friends. And
when are we most often listening to music?
When we’re mobile...
THE SOLUTION
My Audio Bio is like Facebook for music.
Right from the mobile app you can attach
pictures, videos, notes and friends to
various stories. Share those stories with
other friends. Read the own artists Audio
Bio. It takes the meaning of music to a
whole new level.
TECH SPECS
My Audio Bio uses JSON Restful Web
Services to connect and sync web-based
functionality on the iPhone handset.

Beer Goggles
THE PROBLEM
Pabst Blue Ribbon was looking for a way
to enter the mobile space with a fun and
entertaining take on the “beer goggles”
concept. The user (aka beer drinker) takes
a picture of their friend, shakes the phone
and the image warps and pops up a
message of warning “Time to call a cab.”
THE SOLUTION
We’re still pitching the idea, but here are
the assets we’ve created as a way to roll
out an integrated campaign that involves
consumers and drives brand awareness.
TECH SPECS
Beer Goggles uses the camera and built in
image-warping tools. From there users can
upload the image to facebook, save it or
email/MMS the image to a friend.

THE PROBLEM
The problem? Well let’s be honest there
aren’t enough quality Yo Mama jokes in the
world.. :)
THE SOLUTION
The goal with Yo Mama was to write an
iPhone application/Facebook application
combo that share information in real time.
The Facebook e-card application pulls
jokees from the same database as the
iPhone app and vice versa. The iPhone
app has the capability of allowing users to
submit their own jokes. Those jokes enter
a queue where they are approved by an
admin for placement into the app.
TECH SPECS
Yo Mama is driven by a MySQL database
that includes a Web-based admin system to
manage jokes (add, delete, approve). Jokes
are distributed to both the Facebook and
iPhone apps automatically.

THE PROBLEM
Not enough laughter in the world. Whether
you’re a fan of southern cooking or not,
it’s hard to not laugh at Ms. Deen’s funny
kitchen quips.
THE SOLUTION
Paula Deen.
TECH SPECS
Here we used locally reference audio files
and audio player for optimum playback
speed.
THE PROBLEM
People want to find coffee, like...
immediately. They don’t want to type
“coffee” into the Google app, they
don’t want to say “coffee” into the voice
recognition and have it direct them to
toffee shop. They want a one-touch answer
to:
“Where can I find coffee nearby?”
THE SOLUTION
CoffeeSpot houses the largest database
of coffeeshops in the United States. From
large chains to local Mom and Pop’s, users
can hit one button and find any coffeeshop
within a defined radius of their location.
TECH SPECS
CoffeeSpot uses Yahoo! Search to pull in
coffee house locations. The app queries
Yahoo! Search by GPS coordinates and
the results are displayed within the user-
defined radius of their location.

Galpin
THE PROBLEM
Galpin Automotive is the auto dealer
to Hollywood stars. The challenge was
bringing this larger than life brand to a
small screen without losing the elegance
and style of their offline presence.
THE SOLUTION
Using textures that mirror the interiors of
the brands they carry is one way I carried
through the lushness of the brand.
THE PROBLEM
How to translate a robus online calculator
to mobile.
THE SOLUTION
This mockup was produced as a fun,
engaging solution that uses visual
metaphors to communicate various
elements incorporated into calculating
BMI.
