→CLEARING and GRUBBING in RURAL AREA:

Clearing and grubbing in rural areas frequently involve removing treesAnd tree stumps from the road site and disposing of the debris. Clearing and grubbing is usually paid for by the acre of land cleared, at the unit price bid for “clearing and grubbing” or at a single lump sum figure covering all such work on the project.

→CLEARING and GRUBBING in URBAN AREA: Before construction can begin, relocations must be arranged for people and businesses that are displaced. The houses, pavements, sidewalks, and like obstructions must be removed.

Methods of payment for site clearance can be quite complex. Pavement and sidewalk removal are commonly paid for at a bid price per square yard or cube yard of material removed or on a lump-sum basis.
