2016 Festival Schedule

The Southern Maine Children's Water Festival is a one-day educational

event for nearly 700, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students and their

teachers. The Festival features presentations, hands-on exhibits, quiz

contests and stage shows - all with a water theme. The goal of the

Festival includes educating about water, its role as animal habitat, uses

in meeting human needs, water quality protection for human and

ecosystem health, the different forms water takes in the water cycle,

and water conservation.

We present science concepts in a hands-on and

exciting manner, and encourage kids to explore

the ways water is important to their lives. We

also encourage teaching about water by

providing teachers with resources that they can

use in their classrooms for years to come.

Reporters and camera crews are welcome. Last minute changes are possible; an up-to-date schedule will be available at the Registration table in the Sullivan Gymnasium.

All activities will be repeated at the

following times, except as noted:

9:30-10:05

10:15-10:50

11:00-11:35 (1st Lunch, no Stage Show)

11:45-12:20 (2nd Lunch, no Stage Show, Exhibits closed)
