    ROCKS!CLE Temporary Art Exhibition Program is calling onNortheast Ohio young and aspiring artists for their

    upcoming juried art exhibition entitled Cleveland

    Rocks!a tribute to the Legacy of Music, in celebration

    of the 2012 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction

    Ceremony. All public and private school students,

    youth groups and individual youth artists in grades 6

    12 are invited to submit two-dimensional (2D) works of

    art for consideration.

    There is no cost to participate as an artist. Youth artists

    interested in submitting must complete the attached

    registration form and submit any digital/ originalsamples byMarch 23, 2012.

    Submission Guidelines

    Completed registration form.

    Submit up to 5 images of 2D artwork only.

    All mediums of2D art (paintings, oils, acrylics,

    watercolors, pencil, ink, charcoal, marker, digital,

    photography) are encouraged. The theme for thisexhibit is entitled Cleveland Rocks! and is intended

    to highlight the legacy of music.

    Include a CD with your images as a .jpg or .pdf file

    type. Label your CD with 2012 Youth Art and your

    full name.

    Files must be saved as Artist Last

    Name.FirstInitial.Title of Art. For example

    smith.j.rocknroll.

    If submitting original pieces, minimum size of artwork

    is 11 x 14 and cannot exceed 20 x 26. Artwork

    must have artists name and title of art attached to it.

    All accepted artwork must be ready to display in

    standard 24 x 30 metal frames and meet the size

    specifications stated above.

    Artwork that does not meet size limitations or

    specifications will be disqualified before judging

    Rules & Regulations

    Only artists submitting their original work will be

    eligible to participate. Not accepted: kits, paint-by-

    numbers pieces; photocopies, or photographs of

    artwork; magazine or book illustrations, random

    snapshots.

    The artist submittal will be reviewed by an Art Review

    Panel. Additional information may be requested from

    the Artist either verbally or in writing. Failure tocomply with such request will automatically disqualify

    the Artist from further consideration.

    The Art Review Panel reserves the right to disqualify

    entries they consider to be unacceptable or

    inappropriate for a public exhibit.

    Artists whose proposals have not been selected for

    consideration will be notified in writing at the address

    given in the proposal.

    The work selected will be returned to the artist afterexhibition timeframe has expired.

    The City of Cleveland will not be liable for any costs

    incurred by the artist associated with the preparation

    of a proposal submitted in response to this Call to

    Artists.

    Nothing contained in this Call to Artists shall create

    any contractual relationship between the City of

    Cleveland and the artist.

    is calling for Youth Artists (6-12 grades)

    to submit proposals forCLE Youth Art Program

    A tribute to the Legacy of Music

    The CLE Temporary Art Exhibition Program

    creates an airport ambiance unique to the

    Cleveland Plus Region and welcomes people to

    the Airport and region. The mission of the Youth

    Art Programis toprovide Cleveland Plus Regions

    youth with the opportunity to showcase their

    artwork in an exhibit that gets over 30,000visitors daily. CLE Youth Art Gallery is located on

    the ticketing level near Security Checkpoint A.

    The Youth Art Gallery changes up to four times

    per year providing exhibit opportunities for

    Northeast Ohios youth. Submissions are

    reviewed by an Art Review Panel. Each approved

    proposal is assigned an exhibit start date basedon the exhibition calendar. In addition, winning

    artists are also featured on the airports website.

    Reception & Awards Ceremony

    A Reception and presentation of awards will held in

    the airport terminal on April 13, 2012.

    Youth Gallery Public Exhibition dates

    CLE Youth Art Gallery is located on the ticketing level

    near Security Checkpoint A. The exhibit will be open

    to the public April 1 September 30, 2012. The

    gallery is open daily. The exhibit is free to the public.

    Retrieving EntriesEach artist is responsible for retrieving his/her

    artwork within two weeks of notification. Neither

    the City of Cleveland nor Cleveland Hopkins

    International Airport will be responsible for

    unclaimed works. Unclaimed artwork will be held for

    a period of 30 days, then discarded.

    Liability

    Every attempt will be made to preserve, secure and

    protect each entry submitted; but the City of

    Cleveland cannot be responsible for damages, loss of

    art entries, or the cancellation of this exhibit due to

    unforeseen circumstances. The placing of art in the

    exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of

    the entrant with conditions herein set forth. The City

    of Cleveland reserves the right to publish for publicitypurposes reproductions of the entries. The CLE

    Youth Art Program is a public exhibit and
