Congratulations for taking the first step to further your

education!

I am excited that you are here and looking forward to working with you. We have an exciting year ahead of us – full of activities, discussions, projects and progress.

Welcome aboard!

As a student you will receive: A friendly, welcoming and

respectful classroom community;

A safe environment to learn free of put-downs or negativity;

Clear guidelines and recognition for accomplishments and progress, and timely feedback;

Authentic and engaging activities that are tailored to your learning style;

Help when you ask for assistance;

Encouraging words when you are feeling down or discouraged.

As a teacher, I ask that you commit to:

Attending class regularly and promptly – letting me know when you won’t be in class;

Respecting the school and all of it’s members;

Asking for help when you need it;

Helping me understand your goals;

Engaging and fully participating in classroom discussions, activities and projects when appropriate;

Following all directions made in good faith;

Giving your best effort everyday!

As a teacher I will commit to: Building a trusting, respectful and caring relationship with

you; Building a positive classroom community, beginning with

clear guidelines;

Helping you manage the positive and negative forces that may support/hinder your completion;

Identify your learning style(s) and using strategies that address that style;

Making lessons as relevant, meaningful, and engaging as possible;
