The purpose of the meeting was to adopt the Resolution for the Trestle Park Grant, approve the budget amendment for Trestle Park, hire seasonal beach people, adopt the Resolution & Authorization for L.E.D. Streetscape Lighting Grant and hire a contingent Paramedic. Motion passed to adopt the following resolution: The Township of Denton does hereby accept the terms of the Agreement as re- ceived from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the project known as Trestle Park and the Township does agree to appropriate all funds necessary to complete the project and to provide $159,600.00 to match the grant, to maintain satisfactory financial accounts, documents and records and make available to the Department. Also, to comply with any and all items of said Agreement, including all terms not set forth in the foregoing petition. Motion passed to adopt the following resolution: Whereas, Denton Township recognizes the need for energy conservation and that new lighting technology is available that can potentially save the township’s taxpay- ers money on energy consumption and maintenance. Now therefore be it resolved that the Township supports the “Streetscape Lighting LED Replacement” project. Be it further resolved, that the Township Board has approved the Bureau of Energy Systems Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant program’s Advanced Light- ing Technology Demonstration Grant Application as presented to the board on this date and authorized Craig Cotterman, Township Supervisor to sign the certification on behalf of the Township and to act as the designated negotiator for this project. Also, that the Township will financially support this project by providing matching funds as required, currently proposed as $35,000.00.
