Solution Focused Brief CounselingSolution focused brief therapy (SFBT) targets thedesired outcome of therapy as a solution rather thanfocusing on the problem, symptoms, or issues that broughtsomeone to your office.
This technique only gives attention to the present and thefuture desires of the student, rather than focusing on thepast experiences.
The counselor encourages the student toimagine their future as they want it to be and then thecounselor and student collaborate on a series of steps toachieve that goal.
This form of talk therapy involves reviewing and dissectingthe student’s vision (detailing what has worked), anddetermining what skills, resources, and abilities the studentwill develop and use to attain the desired outcome.
Community Based ResourcesWe can provide a list of community based resources that you may choose to enlist to assist with issues that may be deeper than we are permitted to delve.
Needs AssessmentA needs assessment will allow us to determine the needs of the students and how to best prioritize the most common needs of our students. It allows use to set goals to meet those needs.
You will receive a needs assessment by September 28, 2021. The google form will be added to your 2024 and 2025 Google classroom.
Personal Safety LessonsPersonal safety lessons are presented to all students at varying grade levels that deal with:• Appropriate and inappropriate physical contact• Personal Body safety• How to identify trusted adults to report
inappropriate contact
Naviance PlatformNaviance is a web-based career and college readiness platform that all high school students and parents can access.
