    • Rank your elective choices 1 – 6.

    • Choose ½ credit elective (paired with Typing).

    • Turn in to your counselor.

    • Academic recommendations will be given by current teachers.

  • STEM Acceleration Program

    Requirements• Good Attendance, Grades, Efforts and

    Teacher Recommendation. (Test scores are considered but do not limit student participation.)

    • Must take all advanced core courses (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies)

    • M/J Spanish 1 (Instead of Typing)

    Why Participate in STEM?

    • Academic Rigor to better challenge advanced students.

    • Allows advanced participation in High School Credits starting in 7th Grade.

    • Recognition at Awards Ceremony.

    • STEM Activities throughout year.

  • What Parents Can Do to Ensure Success

    • Check and Sign Student Planner Everyday

    • It lists homework due the next day.

    • View parent portal regularly and email the teacher if your child has a bad grade.

    • Check your child’s homework before they go to bed.

    • Set aside time each day to help your child study for tests.

    • Join MAC – Miner Academic Booster Club

    • Link on Fort Meade website – you can access it from a cell phone.
