Online Communication is About
PEOPLE and PERCEPTION
Need to feel acceptedNeed to feel their ideas are valuedNeed to feel safe in a community in order to share ideas
Online communication can be perceived both positively and negatively
Always reread what you write to make sure that it makes sense and is not offensive to anyone
Do not write something that you would not say face-to-face with that person
Written words can come back to haunt you!
Be pleasant and polite—avoid offensive language or being confrontational
Be forgiving of mistakes
