Benefits for Faculty Authors: Make your publications indexed and archived in the CityU Scholarly Repository (SR) to enjoy the following benefits:

Permanent archive of your publications

SR offers a secure and backed-up place to permanently store your scholarly publications during your service at CityU. Its serves an organized single point of reference for your works which can be accessed anytime and anywhere through any web-enabled device.

The green route to open access to make your publications more visible

SR provides the green route to open access that enhances the visibility and discoverability of your works which will lead to greater use and citation. It is also the platform for you to meet the OA requirements (if any) of your funding bodies.

The gateway through which your expertise is identified

SR is the gateway through which the worldwide community identifies different expertise and areas of excellence within the University for research partnership and collaboration, knowledge transfer and commercialization as well as advice and consultation. These in turn enhance your reputation and research impact.

Reflecting the use of your publications and demonstrating your research impact SR includes bibliometrics information and will be continuously enhanced to include various statistics such as the view and download statistics to reflect the usage of your publications and your research impact.

OA Impact Advantage - Related studies have indicated that articles of subscription-based journals that are also self-archived in institutional repositories by the authors enjoy more citations than those that are not.

CityU Scholarly Repository (SR) is now in its beta version. It will be further enhanced to meet the needs of the faculty.

Bibliometrics such as citation counts and altmetrics will be included into your articles (if available) to demonstrate your research impact.
