Notice to Burlington Residents:

Potential Labour Disruption of City Services

www.burlington.ca/labourdisruptions

The City of Burlington is negotiating collective agreements with two unions: CUPE Local 44, outside workers and arena/outdoor pool operators, and Local 2723, Burlington Transit workers.

Both unions have stated that if there is no agreement by the end of June, they will begin strike action as of midnight (12:01 a.m.) on July 2, 2015.

The city does not want a labour disruption, and will continue to seek a settlement that is fair to both unions and to the taxpayers of Burlington. If a strike begins, most city services would continue. Some city services would be cancelled or reduced, including Burlington Transit, some parks maintenance, outdoor swimming and wading pools, ice pads and some indoor sports.

Please visit www.burlington.ca/labourdisruptions for more detail and daily updates, or call 905-335-7803.

We appreciate your patience, and encourage you to support your family in friends in the event of service disruptions.
