ABOUT CSL

The school has since progressed and has incorporated short courses in Basic Accounting, ComputerisedAccounting including Personal and Business Tax, Sage Payroll and Excel for Accountants.

Engaged on the CSL teaching and training programme are experienced, professionally qualified lecturerswith good teaching and training skills to assist in preparing trainees towards their accounting examinationsand in acquiring computing skills.

Training is held in the evening, at the weekend and one full day a week and day-release. However, othertimes can be arranged on application. Our classes usually start during the second week of January andMarch for the June examinations and in July and September for the December examinations.

Our study schemes enable trainees to plan ahead for the demanding examinations. We make every effortto ensure that maximum class room participation takes place and this involves discussions and writtenwork on as many examinations type questions as possible. Our approach centres on acquisition of basicprinciples, examination question practise, practise and more practise.

CSL was established in 1995 to provide training and education to prospective Accountingtechnicians, Certified Accountants and others who wished to gain knowledge and attaincompetence in the use of various computer Accounting Packages.

CSL TIMETABLE

Our timetable is designed for evening, day release and Saturday courses. Evening lessons start from6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 to 2:00.

Day-Release and Evening courses are suitable for students in work who can attend only a limited numberof days in the classroom – e.g. one day per week. Normal hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm

Evening classes are popular among students who are occupied during the day. Classes run from 6:00pmto 8:00pm Monday - Friday.

Saturday lectures are from 10:00am to 2:00pm, designed for students who have difficulty in attendingclasses during the week, and/or for those who require tuition on additional courses.

We strongly recommend that classroom attendance be part of each student’s schedule of studies.Distance learning on its own or going it alone can be too taxing and time consuming without a tutor toguide you through the demanding syllabi.

1. There is a non-refundable registration fee of £80 payable upon registration.

2. To book a place on a course, either the full fee or a minimum deposit of 50% of the total course fee is required.

3. Course cancellations or deferrals must be received in writing at least two weeks prior to the coursecommencement date and administration charges will be incurred.

4. The school reserves the right to dismiss any student at any time for non-payment of fees. No fees will be refundedfor any student dismissed under this section.

5. The school reserves the right to inform sponsors where a student has been removed under this section.

6. All fees include textbooks but exclude revision kits and amounts payable to the professional body for studentregistration, exemptions and examinations entries.

7. Fees are strictly non-refundable once the courses have commenced.

ACCA COURSES

FAST-TRACK TO THE ACCA QUALIFICATION

The Foundation level is the best preparation for theACCA Qualification if you don’t have any otherqualification or experience. Complete the diplomaand you can be automatically transferred onto theACCA Qualification, free of charge, and givenexemptions from the first three exams.

FOUNDATION LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS

Entry requirements

None, it is open access. So if you do not have theentry requirements to start at the ACCAQualification, you can start your studies here.

If you are starting out in accounting andfinance or already working in finance but haveno formal qualifications, you can start yourjourney with ACCA at our foundations level.

FAST AND FLEXIBLE

With computer-based exams available throughoutthe year and paper exams twice a year, you couldcomplete the entire Foundation Diploma and beregistered as an ACCA student in less than 12months. And there’s no time limit for completingthe exams.

EXAM STRUCTURE

The new ACCA Foundation Diploma consists ofseven exams and the Foundations inProfessionalism online module:

AFFORDABLE

You pay for your fees as you go along, so there areno big upfront costs. The foundation Diploma is alower cost alternative to University, and you canstudy and work at the same time. You can betransferred free of charge onto the ACCAQualification once you’ve completed it, with freeexemptions for F1, F2 and F3

ABOUT AAT

AAT is a well established and respectedAccounting qualification which is globallyrecognised and highly valued by leadingemployers.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no minimum entry requirements for theAAT’s Education and Training Scheme, althoughstudents are expected to have a good command ofEnglish and an interest in Mathematics. Studentswith no background or experience in accountancyare advised to commence their studies at theIntroductory Level. The AAT recognises a limitednumber of alternative routes to membership, sothat some students will not need to complete all 3stages of the scheme.

There is a Mature Students’ route directly to theIntermediate level- please contact the AAT for thedetails. A minimum number of units have to becompleted, and the student will be awarded acertificate on reaching a level of competence ineach stage for individual units. (AAT will charge asmall fee). The scheme is flexible and examined bya series of Central Assessments and Skills Tests.
