active games, arts and crafts, science, friendship, and awesome memories coming your way!
All of our day camps provide a fun, safe, active, inclusive and positive environment for children. Our
wish is that at the end of the summer your child will have truly enjoyed their experience. We are
excited about the opportunities we have planned for the summer and are confident that our day
camps will be both a fun and memorable experience for all our participants. Pitt Meadows Summer
Day Camps have a structure and routine that provide campers with an easy transition from school to
the camp setting. Some camp activities will be done within the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation
Centre and some will be off site at local parks and other destinations. These activities include
swimming, gym games, educationally based experiences, artistic and scientific endeavours, drama
activities and fun friendship builders. We have created a fun summer for all children to build their
confidence, gain friends, and create an inclusive environment to help all participants feel comfortable.

INTEGRATEDSUMMER CAMPS
In·clu·sive"Being a part of a whole; including
many different types of people withfair and equal treatment"
It is our goal as a city to provide asmuch help to those in need as possible.
Therefore, there will be a limit inplace for registration- each child can
register for 5 days per person thatrequires support. This will allow equalopportunities for families throughout
the summer.
After the first day of summer campsJuly 2nd we will open up registration as
a first come first serve basis.
Please contact the front counter staffat 604.465.2470 for availability.
If there are any further questionsregarding integrated day camps
contact Kevin Muirhead @604.465.2456 or Email
CAMP CODE OF CONDUCT
Our goal is to create an atmosphere that all children feel accepted and welcome. Adhering to a code
of conduct that all participants must follow is the best way to set boundaries in order for everyone to
feel included in camp. At the beginning of camp in the welcome circle all campers will engage in
writing their own camp rules and regulations that all campers must follow. Below is an example of
the rules that create their social contract code of conduct

Upon arrival at camp, it is important that the camp leaders are aware that your child(ren) has arrived. Please sign your child(ren)
in at the sign-in table and hand in your participant information form. You can download the form at
http://www.pittmeadows.bc.ca/EN/main/parks-recreation/registration.html or at the front counter.
Without a completed waiver form your child will not be able to attend the camp so please ensure this is filled out as accurately as
possible.
SIGN-IN
SIGN-OUTDuring Sign-Out it is very important that camp leaders are aware that your child is leaving the program with an authorized
Individual. That being said, we ask that parents initial our attendance form to sign their child out of the program.
WALK-HOME AUTHORIZATIONThis is a great option for those who are comfortable with
their children either walking home or waiting in the lounge
or lobby for you to pick them up from camp. By signing the
Walk-Home Authorization section on the waiver form your
child can sign themselves out of the program at the end of
the program and wait for you at the recreation centre or
walk home with your permission. Once the children have
signed out they will not be directly supervised by a leader
but there are always staff in the building.
AUTHORIZED ADULT FOR SIGN-OUT
All of our programs require parents/guardians to fill out waiver forms. To save time on the first day of camps we
recommend that the waiver forms be filled in, signed and ready to hand in on the first day.
This form is very important to staff and the safety of your child at camp. Please include any information that staff should
need to know such as: medical information, special needs, allergies, EPIPEN, fears, walk-home authorization, custody
issues, etc. When you are filling out the form please take your time, read all sections, and fill out both front and back of
the form.
You can find a waiver form at the front counter or it can be downloaded online at:
http://www.pittmeadows.bc.ca/EN/main/parks-recreation/registration.html.
WAIVER FORMS
IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION
On the registration form parents can indicate who is
authorized to pick-up your child(ren) and who is not. This
information will be communicated to all Camp Staff to
ensure you child(ren)’s safety. The authorized individual(s)
is the only person(s) that staff will send your child(ren)
home with. If, after the registration process is complete,
the authorized individual(s) information needs to be
altered, please notify the Programmer at 604-465-2456.
Upon pick-up, photo I.D. will need to be presented to the
staff on duty by the individual there to pick-up your
child(ren).
SNACKS & LUNCHESChildren are expected to bring their own snacks and lunches with
them each day. We recommend packing a couple substantial
snacks, as campers tend to be hungrier than normal from being
active outdoors all day.
Due to the potential of serious allergies in children attending
programs, the recreation centre adheres to a strict no nut policy.
We ask that parents and guardians do not send nut products with
your child(ren). Please read food labels carefully to ensure that
your child(ren)’s lunch and snack items are NUT FREE.
Pitt Meadows staff members will be taking photos of the summer
day camp events and participation. This includes pictures of your
children for the sole purpose of promoting the City of Pitt
Meadows registered programs in the future. If you are not
comfortable with City staff members taking any photographs
taken of your child while at camp. Please ensure the photo release
is filled out properly on the participant information form.
PHOTO RELEASE
We have a few special events happening in the summer
that the entire camp will go on an out trip to a fun
destination. The campers will be using public transit as a
means of transportation from Pitt Meadows Recreation
Centre to the destination and back. All funds for public
transit are paid for by the City- you do not need to pack
money for transit. For all smaller trips to local
destinations such as Harris Road Park the camp will be
walking. We will provide all walking route to the front
desk and copies at the sign-in table at drop-off. If you
