Les mesures préventives seront mises en place lorsque le niveau d’eau atteindra 23,60 mètres et que les prévisions seront à la hausse. Preventive measures will be put in place when water level reaches 23.60 metres (Lac des Deux-Montagnes) and is expected to continue rising.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES - DIKES

East of Boulevard Perrot Nord, at the intersection of 1st and 2nd Avenue North, a dike will be installed.
Preventive measures will be put in place when water level reaches 23.60 metres (Lac des Deux-Montagnes) and is expected to continue rising.

DRINKING WATER
Rising water levels do not affect drinking water supply or quality ofwater distributed through supply network.

Residents with access to well water are responsible for setting aside a supplyof drinking water and for following up with the water treatment serviceduring recovery phase to ensure water is drinkable.
SEPTIC TANKSIn order to limit pollution and septic tank backflow following flooding, municipal authorities will mandate a specialized company to carry out selective emptying of sludge. This method removes sludge from tank, but does not empty tank completely, thus preventing a violent expulsion of contents when water table recedes.
Work will be carried out as soon as possible after water recedes.

SHELTER
Due to the pandemic currently affecting Quebec, no emergency shelter will be opened thisyear, and this, in all regions of Quebec, unlike in previous years.
For this reason, we are asking citizens to start contacting friends and relatives who canwelcome them if it becomes necessary to evacuate.
If citizens need to be relocated, the Mission : Victim Services will take charge of thesituation, in collaboration with the Red Cross.

EVACUATION PROCEDURES

When L’Île-Perrot’s Comité de coordination des mesuresd'urgence et de la sécurité civile (CMUSC) so decides, in
order to ensure public safety because of imminent risk of flooding.
When?
Residents are notified by the Fire Department. Residents are also informed through emergency alerts
and information system and City’s website.
How?
Anyone refusing to evacuate their residence despite City’s evacuation order risks serious consequences• The City cannot guarantee to provide emergency services if needed
• Uncooperative residents expose firefighters and other City responders to risks and dangers • Refusal to obey an evacuation order constitutes an offence for which a fine may be imposed under the Civil
Protection Act
