• Protect trout stream Willow Creek from thermal impacts

Project Concept• Re-route runoff from

the 1-inch event to a temporary storage area for later beneficial use as irrigation water.

• Intercepting runoff and re-using the water for irrigation allows it to infiltrate and recharge shallow groundwater.

• Add treatment prior to discharge to Willow Creek.

Harvest and Re-use of Stormwater

• Can provide an alternate source of water for irrigation

• Need to factor in quality of stormwater– Avoid spring runoff with high chloride

concentrations– Not suitable for spray irrigation of food crops– Limited use on high body-contact locations

• Using water where it falls
