Meet the band ...

Allan Leibowitz, drums & backing vocals

Allan began drumming in the early 70s, playing

in garage bands. After years of tapping on the

steering wheel, he recently returned to music,

and besides playing in a number of covers line-

ups, he is a globally respected instrument

reviewer specialising in electronic drums. He

plays a hybrid electronic kit.

Peter Askerow, lead guitar & vocals

Peter started at age 10 by playing a piano

accordion for the oldies in the lounge room.

Told to leave the lounge room WITH piano

accordion at age 10 for playing Rock Around

the Clock [badly] by said oldies.Took up the

guitar and has not stopped playing [numerous

letters from neighbours available on request].

Barry Back, rhythm guitar & vocals

Inspired by an old 78 record of Guitar Boogie

by Arthur Smith, Barry started learning guitar at

boarding school. After school, he formed a

band with his younger brother and went on to

win a regional Battle of the Bands. Since then,

he has sung in choirs and performed in revues

and various theatrical productions.

Bruce Muller, bass guitar & vocals

Bruce learned ukulele as a child. As a teenager,

he joined a band with his brother and the only

instrument available was bass which, of course,

he had to play. Bruce has played bass in

various bands, ranging from country to gospel

and rock and roll, including a Shadows tribute

band. He also sings in a barbershop quartet.

City Limits is one of Brisbane’s most talented and

experienced covers bands, dedicated to recreating the

unforgettable sounds of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Combining superb musical ability with fantastic vocals and

multi-part harmonies, City Limits will have you tapping your

feet, singing along and dancing to some of the all-time great

tunes.

The extensive repertoire features hits from The Beatles, The

Shadows, Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, Roy Orbison and many

other great entertainers.

The band regularly plays three-hour sets, with a musical

journey spanning three decades of hits, blending ballads,

country sounds, instrumentals and rock standards.

Indoors, outdoors, in venues large and small, City Limits

connects with audiences of all ages.
