CROSSSHAPED BASE BALLASTINGS & REACTIONS
1. GENERAL NOTESThe crane is mounted on a type of crossshaped base. This crossshaped base can be installed itselfin different ways (see DATA). This type of crossshaped base and each installation determine the ballasttypes, the ballast values and the reactions.
1. 1. BALLASTING OF CROSSSHAPED BASESThe crossshaped base can be set up in several ways:
on rail travelling gear. The total ballast is placed onto the crossshaped base. The tables of ballastsand reactions are given on pages 22A0330...
static:
on concrete blocks. The weight of these concrete blocks is added to the ballast placed on thecross shaped base and is included in the total ballast. The tables of the ballasts and reactionsare given on pages 22A0340...
on screw jacks/support plates. The total ballast is placed onto the crossshaped base. The tablesof the ballasts and reactions are given on pages 22A0350...
on bed plate. In this version, the bed plate acts as the concrete block. Ballasting of the crosssha-ped base is not necessary. The reaction tables are given on pages 22A0360...
1. 2. BALLAST COMPOSITION
The ballast placed onto the crossshaped base can be carried out with various block models and variousarrangements (lateral ballast, crosswise ballast, etc...). Starting from the value given in the ballastingtables, the pages 22A0400 indicates the different ways of composing the necessary ballast on the crossshaped base.
1. 3. EXECUTION OF THE SUBSTRUCTURE (SEE CHAPTER 23A 24A)The plans for carrying out the tracks, concrete blocks and ballast blocks are given in the chapter 23A 24A of the crossshaped base.
