The Chair declared a recess at 8:01 p.m. The City Council reconvened at 8:17 p.m.

Motion by Steiner, supported by Dansbury, that the Council concur with therecommendation of the Finance Committee in its minutes of December 15, 1997, andAPPROVE the 1997/98 Budget Adjustment #1 in the amount of $18,000.00 to beadded to Account No. 365.993.818.000 (Contractual) for the purchase of restricted

flow catch basin covers.

Motion by Steiner, supported by Granger, that the City Council concur with therecommendation of the City Administrator and the Director of Public Services andauthorize the purchase of a 1998 Elgin Pelican "P" three-wheel Street Sweeper (with atrade of the 1986 Elgin Pelican Sweeper) for a total cost of $88,000.00 from BellEquipment Company, 78 Northpointe Drive, Lake Orion, Michigan, 48359, and thatthe expenditure be charged against the appropriate 1997198 budget account.

Under New Business and hearing no objection, City Administrator Thomas gave a

report regarding the dry dockage rate increase approved on December 15, 1997.

Motion by Steiner, supported by Granger, that the City Council concur with therecommendation of the City Administrator and the Director of Public Servicesregarding boat dockage permit fees, that, in accordance with the 1997 City CodeSection 94-8-c, boat dockage permit fees for 1998 be hereby adjusted by resolution

as follows:

Dry Dock $310.00
