CITI Registration Instructions for Basic Courses

(Renewal instructions on next section)

1. Visit Citiprogram.org. 2. Click on “Register Here”.

3. Please answer the following 4 questions to complete your Registration

Question 1: Please choose George Washington University for Participating Institutions. Question 2: Create a Username (note character specifications). Question 3: Create a Password (note character specifications). Question 4: Enter Email Information

4. Please complete Member Information by answering all required fields. Language, Institution email address, Department, and Role in Research.

5. Please answer the following question as Human Subjects Research Training

6. Please choose that you have not completed prior Human Subjects Training as in doing so will only

provide a shortened refresher course and does not meet IRB requirements.

7. Please check all courses appropriate for your research intentions. (See FAQ’s for guidance)

8. Clinical Investigators viewing, collecting, or using protected health information such as Medical Records or private health information will need to complete HIPS certification.

9. This is a recommended course for clinical trials, but is not required for IRB submissions.

10. On this screen you have to ability to affiliate with another institution.

11. Please click enter to begin your Human Subjects Training.

*** If you have accidently registered yourself for the refresher course prior to completing the basic course please email CITI and ask for them to include a basic course on your account citisupport@med.miami.edu *** The OHR is unable to add basic courses to existing accounts for which only a refresher has been taken.

CITI Registration Instructions for Renewal

1. If you have completed CITI training at another Institution, please click on Affiliate with another

institution under main menu. This will transfer all previous completed modules to GW. If you have already affiliated your CITI account with George Washington University and have forgotten your Username and Password, please call the Office of Human Research to retrieve your information. (Do not create a new account)

2. If you are due to refresh your course please login and take the refresher course by clicking enter.

***If you have created more than one account please contact CITI at citisupport@med.miami.edu to have your accounts combined. ***

Steps to Add or Change Learner Group Courses

1. At main menu screen, please click on Add course of update learner groups.

2. Please check Human Subjects Research Training

3. Please choose if you need to add HIPS (Clinical Investigators viewing, collecting, or using protected health

information such as Medical Records or private health information will need to complete HIPS certification.)

4. Please choose any additional courses you wish to be enrolled

5. Please choose if you wish to enroll in GCP, note that this course is not required.
