RESEARCH EXPERIENCE: M.Phil. & PhD Level
PhD Level (2004 -2009)
Title: Knowledge Organization in the Field of Gender Studies in Informatics
Objective: To assess the GSI publication overall output from the engineering village database
authorship, subject, source, theme wise, continent along with their countries, etc.
Sample: 14755 records are found with the data after eliminate the duplicate records and taken for
study.
Tools used: Relative growth rate, doubling time, Activity index, priority index, specialization
index, authorship pattern, Lotka’s law, Bradford’s low of scattering, etc.
Findings: among the six continent, the North America is the highest; country wise the USA is the
highest, source wise articles in Journal is the highest and theme wise ”gender gap” is dominating
the highest place among the other themes.
MPhil Level (2002 – 2004)
Title: Impact of ICT Infrastructure in Academic Libraries in Tamil Nadu State
Objective : To assess the academic library infrastructure facilities like, Library Planning,
Hardware, Software, Network, Collection, Access, Manpower and Services.
Sample: Sixty one academic Libraries in Tamil Nadu have been taken for this study.
Sampling: Simple Random Sampling.
Questionnaire: A structured Questionnaire has been prepared & distributed to about 150
academic libraries out of 150 only 61 institutions responded in this Questionnaire.
Tools Used: Percentage analysis, Chi-square test.
Findings: The ICT infrastructure and the usage are higher in Chennai Region & Coimbatore
region. The ICT infrastructure is more & more in academic Libraries due to technological
development & advancement in higher Education. The Academicians were aware of ICT
application and Using widely for their entire academic & research purpose.
