Cisco TelePresence® Design Palette Guide
The color temperature, intensity and positioning of lights in a room produce unique reactions from paint colors. Cisco has tested a broad spectrum of hues to identify the paint colors that work best with Cisco TelePresence camera, lighting and plasma technology, while also complementing the skin tones of participants and creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Cisco TelePresence technology performs best when colors are neutral and reflect a certain amount of light. Our first and second generations of color palettes use warm earth tones and neutral tones to ensure participants are portrayed in the most accurate manner possible. Our newest color palettes build on all the previous concepts, adding flexibility through a three-color approach. They also provide greater design detail, with recommendations for fabrics and carpets. The three color categories include:
• Field, or main color • Complement, or secondary optional color • Detail color for trims and moldings
These combine to create an immersive Cisco TelePresence experience. You can learn about the three color categories in more detail on page 22.
The physical components in a Cisco TelePresence room, including lighting, furniture, decorations, give the space its identity and provide an opportunity for corporate branding. Organizations are advised to design their immersive Cisco TelePresence rooms to reflect both their corporate and local cultures. Consulting with your organization’s corporate branding team is encouraged.
Note: This color guide is used in conjunction with the Cisco TelePresence Room Design Guide and the Cisco TelePresence Room Readiness Assessment (RRA) process to insure the best Cisco TelePresence experience. For more design information, please visit: www.cisco.com/go/roomdesign

Light & Airy
The Light & Airy palette reflects simplicity and a casual refinement. It is inspired by the open, light-saturated spaces of modern high-rises; the calm and spacious interiors of museums; and the clean, minimalist spaces of high-end boutiques. The finishes are monochromatic ivories and whites, highlighted by glass, metal details and wood tones. Light & Airy is especially recommended for brightening and enlarging small and medium sized spaces.

Rich & Bright
Classic elegance is the underlying theme for Rich & Bright. The palette draws on the style of high-end law offices and contemporary restaurants, mixing complementary warm and cool tones with layered textures. Vibrant copper accents offset the rich wood tones and sage green hues, giving the room an expressive, soothing atmosphere.

Stark Contrast
The Stark Contrast palette provides a crisp, dramatic feel for medium to large rooms. The softly contrasting mouse grays and foamy whites are juxtaposed against off-blacks and deep browns, creating a strikingly chic environment. This understated, yet bold palette takes its cues from contemporary boutique hotels and modern VIP airport lounges.

Traditional Warmth
Traditional Warmth draws its refined, timeless feel from a combination of warm French grays, subtle peach tones, and creamy whites mixed with blond woods. Details
The Cisco Telepresence® color palettes are designed to work in a broad range of environments. Each has been tested to ensure it creates optimal images on the display, works with participants’ skin tones and provides a pleasing overall atmosphere.
Although each palette may be used in a variety of ways in almost any room, we recommend using color, especially Field colors, on the walls to achieve optimal picture quality.

Color Palette System
Description
Each color palette is comprised of three colors, defined as Field, Complement, and Detail. The Field Color is the dominant color and should be present on most surfaces in the camera’s field of view. The Complement Color is an optional secondary color that can be applied to walls, architectural features, upholstery, window coverings or other elements. The Detail Color is recommended for the trim elements, such as baseboards, door frames, moldings and ceilings. It should appear only marginally in the camera field.
Suggested color proportions:
Field Complement Details
Each palette also includes suggestions for fabrics and carpets. The suggested fabrics can be used in both the Field and Complement Color areas of your Cisco TelePresence® room, without causing any undesired optical effects on camera. The suggested carpets are generally in darker tones to help ground the environment and tie all design elements together. Please refer to the Application Example for guidance on how and where to apply the palette in your teleconference space.

Details
In the following pages you will find the specifications for recommended Cisco TelePresence® color palette, including colors, fabrics and carpets.
Questions regarding the availability of certain finishes or requests to use colors outside the recommended palette should be addressed to your design and remediation partner, or to Cisco® Advanced Services as an additional service.
Do not perform a color match using a printed version of this document.
Because of the vast number of color systems and paint manufacturers throughout the world, it is not possible to identify matching colors for each paint manufacturer or provider. To translate colors to your local paint system and for an accurate representation of the paint colors, request a color sheet from Benjamin Moore (see vendors section for contact info).
