Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. is pleased to introduce 13C18-labeled and unlabeled tris(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)-1,3,5-triazine (TTBP-TAZ) standards.

TTBP-TAZ is a highly brominated triazine compound, used as an additive flame retardant in plastic components of electrical and electronic products. It has been identified as a component in acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) polymers as a possible replacement for OctaBDE, DecaBDE and HBCDD technical products. TTBP-TAZ has only recently been identified as a new-use flame-retardant chemical, and very little is currently known about its potential toxicity and environmental impact. TTBP-TAZ has recently been found in samples of consumer plastic products, as well as samples of indoor house dust.
