Workplace Mediation

Workplace mediation has become very popular inthe UK. The types of issues covered are varied, butmay include; bullying, team conflict, interpersonal differences, disputes over resources, manager/ employee conflict and issues related to grievance handling. There is a very high success rate for this type of intervention.

This Course

CiC have joined forces with Buon Consultancy, one of the leading mediation training providers in the UK to offer this internal workplace mediation skills training. Created specifically for the workplace setting and util-ising a blend of interactive role play, peer coaching and case-study based discussion, the course provides a comprehensive skills training for anyone wishing to gain competency in mediating workplace conflict as part of an internal mediation team. This very practical course uses a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension, and retention of the information presented. Participants are taught to mediate using co-mediation. Co-mediation is ‘best practice’ for internal peer mediation and utilises two volunteer mediators working together to help their fellow employees solve workplace conflicts.

Accredited Trainers

The course is taught by a CMC Accredited Mediator.Participants will receive a Certificate in Internal Work-place Mediation Skills.There is no accreditation for internal mediation train-ing in the UK at present.

Under the CMC Registration scheme in the UK, ourProfessional Training Course (7 days + assessment)is recognised by the CMC for ProfessionalRegistration. However, this level of registration is notrequired for internal mediators.

The Lead Trainer

The trainer is Tony Buon, the Managing Partner ofBuon Consultancy. He is a well known workplacemediator with over 30 years experience as amediator instructor.

Tony is also a qualified workplace psychologist, train-er, educator and author. Tony holds Diplomas inMediation, Conflict Resolution, Counselling andTeaching. Degrees in Psychology and BehaviouralSciences and Post-Graduate Qualifications inEducation and Psychology. He is also a CertifiedEmployee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and aRegistered Civil, Commercial and Workplace Mediator(CMC).

Tony has extensive adult and tertiary teachingexperience and has taught up to Master’s Level inUniversities and Colleges in Australia and the UK.

Some of the over 1000 organisations Tony hasworked with include; 3M, Accor, Aramco, AXA, theBritish Council, BP, Coca Cola, CiC, CSR, DAA, Diageo,Dorset Police, DAA, DuPont, EAPA, ENI, HampshireCouncil, NHS, Scottish Police College, & the SydneyOlympics.



Internal Workplace Mediation Skills Course

5‐day Course (35 hours total)

The training comprises five one‐day sessions. These can be done in two parts with a break
