PROJECT First Lutheran Church Sioux Falls, SD DETAILS K-13 ® Beige 1.5” Thick 5,400 sq. ft. DESIGN SOLUTION CHURCHES First Lutheran Church’s multi-purpose room in Sioux Falls, South Dakota needed acoustical material to absorb annoying reverberation. K-13 Beige was chosen for its excellent acoustical and insulative properties. In this case, the reverberation time before the treatment was 4+ seconds and after was 1.5 seconds. K-13 can be installed to virtually any substrate from 3/4” to 5” without any mechanical support. The ability of spray-applied K-13 to conform to any surface configuration eliminates any voids, gaps and compressions that can occur with prefabricated insulation. Robert Oswald, Facilities Director of First Lutheran Church commented on how impossible it was to hear anything before the treatment, “The older people couldn’t even hear each other talk and whenever he tried to have music it just bounced all around the place. To save money our volunteers came in and did the final cleanup. It was amazing! They could actually hear each other from one end to the other. We put up a new speaker and now all the older people can hear each other clearly.” The application of K-13 was easily justified in that K-13 also doubles as thermal insulation with an R-Value of 3.8 per inch, thus saving First Lutheran Church money over time on heating and cooling costs. Do you have a gymnoiseum problem? ICC’s spray- applied K-13 is the perfect remedy. K-13 is available in six standard colors: black, gray, light gray, tan and beige. Custom colors are available to match any interior decor. K-13 is also ideal for arenas, convention centers, and even noisy restaurants. Contact International Cellulose Corporation at (800) 444-1252 for complete details on how K-13 can improve your new construction and renovation projects. First Lutheran Church’s multi-purpose room in Sioux Falls, South Dakota needed acoustical material to absorb annoying reverberation.

We put up a new speaker and now all the older

people can hear each other clearly.”
