Healing Intentions for Margaret Geraghty by Bernadette Brosnahan
God our Father, Creator of the Universe and Lord over all creation, we humbly stand before you as your children in thanksgiving for your loving care and protection. We ask that you keep us safe from all hurricanes which may threaten us in the coming seasons. Protect us from all fear and anxiety of storms and give us an ardent trust and hope in Your love and mercy. You alone have the power to command the sea, the wind and the rain. You alone bring peace, calm, and safety. Father, we thank you in advance, for you are our only Refuge. We ask this through Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. Mary, Queen of the Apostles, and Patroness of our Diocese, pray for us.

August 30th: 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time:
Catholic Social Teaching Theme: “Dignity of Work”
The week before Labor Day, "we have an opportunity to reflect on what the Church teaches us about the dignity of work and the rights of workers. We mark Labor Day this year as our communities are facing the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and a renewed call to dismantle systems of racial injustice. In a special way, we are invited to reflect on Pope Francis’ call for “more inclusive and equitable economic models” that place people, not capital, at the center." (Introduction: Labor Day 2020 Reflection Guide. USCCB)
Please read the full Reflection Guide here:
https://www.usccb.org/resources/labor-day-2020-pastoral-guide.pd
Challenge question: What might "more inclusive and equitable economic models" look like? How might I help advocate for such models?
Just A Little Reminder Please take your bulletin home or dispose of it in a waste receptacle. We ask that you do not place your used bulletin back on the new pile of bulletins that other parishioners take when coming into the church. Thank you!
Week 24: I’m starting to put on weight faster! I’ve gained about half a pound in the last few weeks! That has doubled my weight!
Watch the bulletin every week for 40 weeks as our special Child Of God grows in his mother’s womb.

Leave a Legacy to St. Mark Parish Gather information about your assets, including retirement funds, bank accounts and real property. • Choose the type of bequest you’d like to make. A.) Unrestricted bequest – This is a donation to be used for St. Mark Parish general funds. This donation would be used where most needed. B.) Restricted bequest – This donation specifies how the money is to be used. (This could be restricted to go into an endowment, a specific use, or renovation fund.)
• A bequest can be made in a number of ways: A.) Specific dollar amount B.) Specific assets such as securities, real estate or tangible property. • Retirement account assets consisting of any benefits remaining in your retirement plan. • A residuary bequest – St. Mark Parish receives all or a percentage of your estate after all other obligations are met. • An existing will or trust can be easily amended to include a gift to St. Mark Parish without rewriting the entire document, called
a codicil, which adds a new bequest while reaffirming the terms of your will. Your attorney can prepare an amendment to a revocable trust to add St. Mark Parish.
• Meet with your estate planning attorney. An attorney can best advise you. • All bequests to St. Mark Parish are fully deductible for estate tax purposes.
Summer is wrapping up and unfortunately COVID-19 cases are increasing in some areas. During this challenging time people are turning to us for help. St. Mark wants to answer that call but we still depend on online donations to continue our ministry. We prayerfully invite you to sign up for eGiving from your computer, smartphone or tablet and set up a recurring donation or make a one-time gift. Sign up today by visiting faith.direct/FL738. Thank you for your continued support of our parish family. God Bless You,
Fr. Dan
