This Year’s Catholic Kids’ Camp Service Project!!

This year’s Catholic Kids Camp was called “Marvelous Mystery: The Mass Comes Alive!” This year’s service project (2019) is going to be a monetary collection for the Missions in Africa, specifically for the Albino children. This need is very close to Fr. Barnabas’s heart and home. In order for us to be able to send a big donation, we are asking for your pennies, loose change, or even dollars throughout the Summer! Please look for our “Pennies from Heaven” bank in the back of Church, & please help the CKC kids reach their goal with your spare change! For more information on the Missions in Africa, please check out this website: ourladyofkilimanjaro.org or talk to Fr. Barnabas.

Over the next few months, I will be sharing with you some projects that will need to be done in our Church. It has been recommended, and confirmed by our Building and Grounds Committee, that we address a concern with our heating system for the Church. Heat is provided to the Church by the Rectory boilers. The recommendation is to install a unit in the Church. This will reduce the stress on the Rectory boilers, and allow them to last a longer time. We are currently looking into the cost of this project. If this is something you can help with financially, please talk to Msgr. O’Connor for more information. Please contact Lynn Sabol for more information!

R.C.I.A. – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a pastoral process of initiating baptized Christians (candidates) or non-baptized persons (catechumens) into full communion with the Catholic Church. If you or someone you know is interested in

beginning the journey of faith, please contact the Parish Office at 570-622-1802. Now is the time to start thinking of this so that they can start with our Fall classes!

THE INTERCESSOR’S CORNER St. Vincent de Paul Born in France in 1580, St. Vincent was born to peasant farmers, but his father, seeing his potential, made sure he received a good education. Vincent was ordained a priest, & served as chaplain to the countess of Gondi. Seeing the poor were spiritually neglected, he founded the Ladies of Charity & the Sisters of Charity to help. To reform the priesthood, he founded the Lazarites to train priests. He is the patron of charitable institutions.

Drawing begins at 2 pm on Sunday, September 29
