A Note From the Pastor
.
One of the guidelines medical personnel counseled, and the
Archdiocese implemented, was Holy Communion only by
hand. Many of you have been awaiting patiently permission
to receive the Holy Eucharist again on the tongue. This week
Archbishop Aquila’s Further Guidance for Public Mass
permits reception on the tongue. You can view the full update
on the Archdiocesan website.
Starting immediately, for all Sunday Masses there will be a
minister of the Eucharist in the back of the church (center
aisle, usually Br. Nathan) to accommodate all those who
would like to receive on the tongue. This also means that we
will, once again, require an EMHC to help at all Sunday (and
Saturday Vigil) Masses. Br. Nathan will be contacting you
soon to begin that schedule.
In terms of weekday and Saturday morning Masses, we will
distribute Holy Communion first to everyone who would like
to receive on the hand. After that is completed…anyone who
may wish to receive on the tongue can do so. There is not to
be any intermixing.
One final hopeful thought…the guidelines mention music/
cantors, and we will be implementing vocal music back into
the Mass soon.
Peace,
Fr. Chris
NOTE !!! The procedure for parking in the
lot at 19th and Welton is very clear—
enter your license plate’s letters and digits
and enter the code for a Holy Ghost parking
space dashboard ticket, as discussed below
in each week’s bulletin.
Holy Ghost Church will no longer take care
of any parking tickets.

October - Month of the Holy Rosary
St. Pius V attributed the great defeat of the Turkish fleet on the
first Sunday of October, 1571, to the fact that at the same time
the Rosary confraternities at Rome and elsewhere were holding
their processions. A second great victory over the Turks, who
threatened the ruin of Christian civilization, occurred on
August 5, 1716, when Prince Eugene defeated them at
Peterwardein in Hungary.
"Today, when dangers far greater than those of the ancient
Turks threaten not only Christianity but all civilization, we are
urged by our Blessed Mother to turn again to the Rosary for
help. If men in sufficient numbers do this, and at the same time
carry out the other conditions that she has laid down, we have
the greater reason for confidence that we will be delivered from
our dangers."
