From Pope Francis’ Homily on the Holy Family, 2013

“Let us fervently call upon Mary Most Holy, the Mother of Jesus and our Mother, and St Joseph her spouse. Let us ask them to enlighten, comfort and guide every family in the world, so that they may fulfill with dignity and peace the mission which God has entrusted to them.”

Prayer to the Holy Family From the 2013 Synod of Bishops

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love, to you we turn with trust.

Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families too may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel and small domestic Churches.

Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never again experience violence, rejection and division: may all who have been hurt or scandalized ind ready comfort and healing.

Holy Family of Nazareth, may the approaching Synod of Bishops make us once more mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its beauty in God’s plan.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, graciously hear our prayer.

Blessings for a Healthy and Happy New Year,

Father Brian

The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph

“Wives, be subordinate to your husbands…Husbands, love your wives…Children, obey your parents in everything…Fathers, do not provoke your children…” (Colossians 3:18-21)

Pope Francis said that families, through their life of prayer and love, become “schools of true human growth.” Being credible witnesses of Chrisan love, especially that of family members, exerts the most posive influence on our children. We are all children of God, let us pray and love each other as God Our Father does for us.
