GOD’S WORK We are so busy! Most of us have more than one job to do, and we never seem to have enough time. We are workers, volun-teers, parents, friends, and most of us are more than one thing at a time. But which of these is the work of God?

We seldom view our ordinary work as being the work of God. We may think that we have to be ministers or priests, missionaries or charity workers, engaged full-time in works formally identified as being “God’s work.” But everything we do with a faithful heart and with love for others is God’s work. We each have our own role to fill in the world, and many gifts are necessary. We cannot always see the direct connection of our daily work to the plan of God. But we trust and we believe that God leads us to do what is needed, where it is needed. What is “God’s work?” “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent” (John 6:29).

Please Pray for Our Sick Dear Father of love and mercy, hear our prayers for the sick members of ou community and for all who are in need: Deacon Joe Crowley, Dave Murphy, Jay Frost, Angelina Schmitt, Lolita Holganza, Robin Struble, Evelyn Boissonneault, Bernadette Jaros and Andrew Abbate.

The flowers will be ordered by the parish and mention of the intention will be made both in the bulletin and before the weekend Masses. The cost of flowers for the main altar is $50.00 and for the side altar, $35.00. You may also donate the Sanctuary Lamp for a specific weekend. The cost is $10.00 If you would like to donate the flowers or the Sanctu-ary Lamp, please call the rectory 973-694-5700.

SAVE THE DATE OUR ANNUAL PARISH PICNIC

WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2018

Notification of Hospitalization Illness or Impending Surgery

Hospitals are required to observe confidentiality and priva-cy laws and are no longer able to inform parishes of admis-sions of parishioners. It is now necessary for either the pa-tient, him/her self, or a family member to notify the parish of his/her hospitalization. Arrangements then can be made for the parish priest to visit the patient. Because of privacy laws we do not publish the names of the sick in our bulletin or announce them at Mass unless the pa-tient or a family member gives us permission to do so. Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be administered upon request prior to a scheduled hospital admission or before any elective surgery. Please call the rectory 973-694-5700. All calls are kept confidential.

COFFEE SHOP IS OPEN THIS SUNDAY MORNING

ALL ARE WELCOME TO STOP INTO THE COMMUNITY ROOM AND ENJOY A CUP OF COFFEE OR TEA AND A BAGEL OR

BUN AND GOOD FELLOWSHIP

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Looking for something out of this world?

Something with a longer and deeper view of yourself, your family, your job,

the world in which we live? Something?

Some ONE to believe in? Something MORE?

RCIA speaks to the hearts of adults who may be con-sidering or re-considering the Catholic Faith. Perhaps you were raised in a different faith tradition or were baptized a Catholic but never received the rest of the Sacraments; perhaps you come from no faith tradition at all. RCIA is a journey of inquiry that explores the Catholic Faith. We will meet weekly in a group setting to learn about the Lord; who God is and who He is in-viting us to be. We do this from within the Annunci-ation Parish community which provides companion-ship, support and witness. You are most welcome to join us. If you are interested in knowing more about the program please call the Parish Office at 973-694-5700.

Serving in Our Military With gratitude, we remember our veterans and we also pray for the safe return of our loved ones who now serve us faithfully both here and in foreign lands. As a visible reminder of their sacrifice and our love, we would like to begin publishing a prayer list of the men and women who are actively serving. This list will be published regularly in the bulletin. If you wish to include a family member who is actively serving in the military, please call the Parish Office at 973-694-5700 and provide us with the individuals name and rank. You may also email the information to [email protected]. Please keep in your prayers ~CPL Axsel Consten, Marine ~Chastity Consten, Air Force ~Staff Sgt. Ross Devine, Special Forces ~Matt Doss, US Army ~Sam Oswald, Air Force ~Ensign Matthew La Sala ~John Thompson, Air Force ~Master Sgt Rick Van Eycke, Marines ~Staff Sgt. Christopher Whitehead, US Army

KEEPING IN TOUCH Over time, parishioners have asked us to find a way to keep them in-formed of important events in the parish, such as the death of fellow pa-rishioners for example. We are happy to report that we have begun using Constant Contact for this purpose. Constant Contact is an email service that allows us to send out messages to an unlimited number of recipients. If you would like to be included in this contact list, please send an email to Trish at [email protected] and we will add you to our contact list.
