In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

DICIASETTESIMA DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO 26 DI LUGLIO , 2015

“But the servant objected, ‘How can I set this before a hundred people?’ Elisha insisted, ‘Give it to the people to eat. For thus says the Lord ‘They shall eat and there shall be some left over.’ And when they had eaten, there was some left over, as the Lord had said.”… “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish”…When they had had their fill, he said to the disciples, ‘Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing will be wasted.’” At a time of picnics and alfresco dining, reading from the book of Kings and the gospel of John

is most enjoyable. In both cases we learn that we can use our resources whether abundant or scarce to touch the lives of others. Whether it be the one hundred or the ‘large crowd’ people had a hunger, a need, and there were gifts to be given to change their lives. When we gather for Eucharist, gifts are brought to the altar. They represent our ability to offer something for the needs of others, who have a hunger we can satisfy, not just bread and wine, but care, concern, support and understanding. People are hungering for peace, justice, work, freedom. We cannot overlook them, for we are the resources to produce change. Don’t waste food; recognize the Christ in the homeless and hungry. Provide for the many charities who depend on us. The question remains: ‘What are the five loaves and two fish I have’ and ‘what I am doing with them?’ “Pero su servidor respondió: ‘¿Cómo voy a servir esto a cien personas?’. ‘Dáselo a la gente para que coman, replicó él, porque así habla el Señor: Comerán y sobrará.’ El servidor se lo sirvió: todos comieron y sobró, conforme a la palabra del Señor.”… “‘Aquí hay un niño que tiene cinco panes de cebada y dos pescados’… Cuando todos quedaron satisfechos, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: ‘Recojan los pedazos que sobran, para que no se pierda nada.’” Durante este tiempo de picnics y comidas al aire fresco, las lecturas del libro de Reyes y el evangelio de San Juan son muy agradables. En ambos casos aprendemos que podemos utilizar nuestros recursos, ya sean abundantes o escasos para tocar la vida de otros. Ya fueran los cien o una gran multitud, la gente tenía hambre, una necesidad y también había dones para cambiar sus vidas. Cuando nos reunimos para la Eucaristía, las ofrendas se traen al altar. Estas representan nuestra habilidad de ofrecer algo para las necesidades de quienes tienen hambre que podemos satisfacer, y no sólo pan y vino, sino preocupación, cuidado, ayuda y comprensión. La gente tiene hambre por paz, justicia, trabajo, libertad. No podemos ignorarlos, ya que somos la fuente que produce cambios. No desperdicie comida; reconozca al Cristo en el indigente y el hambriento. Ayude a proveer a las muchas organizaciones caritativas que dependen de nosotros. La pregunta es: ‘¿Cuáles son los cinco panes y dos pescados que tengo?’ Y ‘¿Qué estoy hacienda con ellos?’

Tutti gli evangelisti ci riportano il racconto del miracolo della moltiplicazione dei pani. Si tratta di nutrire una grande folla di persone e di seguaci di Gesù, radunati sulla riva nord-est del lago di Tiberiade. Come dimostra l’atteggiamento dei partecipanti, essi interpretano questo pasto come un segno messianico. La tradizione ebraica voleva che il Messia rinnovasse i miracoli compiuti da Mosè durante la traversata del deserto. Ecco perché, secondo questa attesa messianica, si chiamava “profeta” il futuro Salvatore, cioè

“l’ultimo Mosè”. Infatti, secondo il Deuteronomio, Dio aveva promesso a Mosè prima della sua morte: “Io susciterò loro un profeta in mezzo ai loro fratelli e gli porrò in bocca le mie parole ed egli dirà loro quanto io gli comanderò” (Dt 18,18). Ecco perché le persone che sono presenti durante la moltiplicazione dei pani cercano di proclamare re Gesù. Ma Gesù si rifiuta, perché la sua missione non è politica, ma religiosa. Se la Chiesa riporta questo episodio nella celebrazione liturgica è perché essa ha la convinzione che Gesù Cristo risuscitato nutre con il suo miracolo, durante l’Eucaristia, il nuovo popolo di Dio. E che gli dà le forze per continuare la sua strada lungo la storia. Egli precede il suo popolo per mostrargli la via grazie alla sua parola. Coloro che attraversano la storia in compagnia della Chiesa raggiungeranno la meta di tutte le vie, l’eredità eterna di Dio (cf. Gv 14,1-7).

BAPTISM INFORMATION The Sacrament of Baptism is Celebrated

Once a month on Sunday One Sunday in Spanish after the

12:30pm Mass and One Sunday in English at 2PM.

THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATES ARE: September 20th — English Baptisms September 27th — Spanish Baptisms

Please come to the office rectory for requirements and registration at least one month in advance.

In order to fulfill the requirements in time.

MOST HOLY TRINITY CHURCH Friday, July 31st, 2015 will be the last

daily mass at Most Holy Trinity. The 8am or 12pm mass will no

longer be celebrated.

PASTORAL VISIT OF HIS HOLINESS, POPE FRANCIS

The Holy Father will arrive in NY on Thursday evening,

September 24th, and will depart early Saturday morning, September 26th. The Mass will be

celebrated on Friday, September 25th at 6:30pm at Madison Square Garden. Regarding tickets to the

Mass, please keep in mind that the visit is brief. Madison Square Garden holds a limited number of

people. Parishes will receive tickets based on a formula using Mass attendance to ensure that all parishes are treated equally. There will, however, be a minimum number of tickets for every parish

so that smaller parishes are not at a disadvantage. Again, you can expect more information

as we move into August.

Registration for September 2015 will be held from July through August

Monday - Friday 10am until 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 1pm at the Parish Rectory.

These are the requirements and Fees Every Child must re-registered each year. Parents must come in person.

Birth & Baptism Certificate of Students

Tuition fees are only applied to siblings not relatives.

NEW DAILY MASS

With the upcoming merging of the parishes of

St. Vito and Most Holy Trinity, plans are being made to offer a 12 noon daily Mass

Monday thru Friday here at St. Vito, beginning on Monday August 3rd in the Church.

Intentions are now being accepted for these masses.

NEW PARISHIONERS We welcome new parishioners to St. Vito’s soon to be merged with

the Church of the Most Holy Trinity. For those who wish to register, there are forms available on the tables of the

back of the church. It is asked that you complete and return forms to the Parish office or

you may place them in the collection basket.

CAMPAÑA ANUAL DEL CARDENAL

Hasta el día de hoy nuestra parroquia ha recibido $32,479 en promesas/regalos para la

Campaña del Cardenal, por parte de 135 familias.

INFORMACION DE BAUTIZOS

El Sacramento de Bautizo solo se celebrara una vez al mes los domingos. Los Bautizos en Español se llevan acabo

después de la misa de 12:30pm y los bautizos en Ingles a las 2:00pm.

Durante el verano no se celebraran bautizos.

NUEVO HORARIO DE MISAS DIARIAS Con la unión de las Iglesias San Vito Y

Holy Trinity, se está planeando ofrecer una misa diaria en ingles a las 12 del medio día de lunes

a viernes aquí en San Vito. Este horario de misas comenzara a partir del Lunes 3 de Agosto en la

Iglesia y ya se están recibiendo intenciones.

VISTA PASTORAL DE SU EMINENCIA, EL PAPA FRANCISCO

El Santo padre llegara a Nueva York el Jueves por la noche del 24 de

Septiembre, y se ira el Sábado por la Mañana del 26 de Septiembre. Con respecto a las entradas

para la Misa que celebrara el 25 de Septiembre a las 6:30pm en Madison Square Garden.

Las parroquias recibirán entradas basadas en la asistencia de misa para asegurarnos que todas las

parroquias sean tratadas con igualdad. Sin embargo la cantidad de entradas van a ser muy

limitada por parroquia para que las parroquias pequeñas no estén en desventaja.
