ARE YOU REGISTERED?

From time to time people come into the Rectory asking for a document, such as a Sponsor Certifi-cate, which states that they are members in good standing of this parish. The only way we can comply with this request is if the individual is indeed, a registered member of the parish who worships here on a regular basis. Please note that although you may be registered with the CCD Office or may have made all your sacraments at St. Marys, this does not automatically mean that you are registered at the Rectory! If you would like to become a fully registered member or check to see if you are registered, please stop by or call the Rectory. If you are new to the parish, Fr. Duff would like to greet you personally!

Why Choose a Catholic Cemetery? Our Catholic faith and Order of Christian Funerals provide incredible comfort to bereaved families. Our time-honored rites give mourners a familiar structure in the bewildering days following a death. The final goodbye at the Catholic Cemetery is a poignant beginning of the next phase of grief. Gate of Heaven Cemetery, located at 10 West Ste-vens Avenue in Hawthorne, NY, has been operat-ing for almost 100 years! It is a beautiful and his-torical cemetery. There are still over 60 acres of space remaining to be developed to accommodate the burial, entombment and inurment (for cremated remains) if Catholics and members of their families throughout the grater New York area. Please feel free to contact them at 914-769-3672, visit their website at www.gateofheavenny.com, or just stop by for a visit to the beautiful cemetery. Brochures are available in the rear of the Church and free information packets can be picked up in the rectory.

The world was a playground for Mickey, a naive Irish American kid bored with his life. His father served in World War II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam; now it was his turn. His 365 days in Vietnam builds in torment until an attack on a bunker complex in Cambodia. Wounded, his friend captured, he becomes a tormented survivor knowing he is always just a heartbeat from death.

In this memoir, set as deeply in his mind as in the Southeast Asian jungle, a young American soldier embarks

on a journey to a war that, for him, will never be over.
