Results and lessons learnt from the 1st
Carpool Week
• What works?
‒ Conclusive period (end of March – Early April) for the carpool week
‒ Stimulating rewards (iPad, Smart Box)
‒ Convincing communication strategy and material aimed at project managers
in companies and administrations (numerous actions)
‒ Personalized travel plans valued and perceived as very useful by
employees interviewed
‒ Word of mouth helped to recruit employees for Personalized travel plans
What has to be improved?
‒ Overwhelming tasks asked to mobility/carpooling project managers in
companies and administrations
‒ Lack of appropriation of the communication support to develop it internally
by project managers in companies and administrations
‒ Time to fill Personalized travel plans questionnaires much underestimated
2nd Carpool Week (2016)
Considered evolutions

= 60 cies and 115 896 employees.
Next Carpool Week

LESSON LEARNT
- CHUMS approach has unlocked greater carpooling numbers -employees
- Convincing communication strategy and material aimed at project
managers in companies.
- Tisseo Mobility advisers provided ongoing one to one engagement with
business to keep momentum
‒ A lot of tasks asked to mobility/carpooling project managers in companies
and administrations
‒Lack of appropriation of the communication support to develop it internally
by project managers
‒PTP (Personalized Travel Plans) required significant time but perceived as
very useful by employees interviewed
Next Mobility Jackpot Lottery
Considered evolution 2nd wave of Mobility Jackpot Lottery (2016)
Considered evolutions
Still a monthly draw
(Draws in February-March-April) – 3
Targets:
• Every registered companies’ employees (wider
target)
Personalised Travel Plans
• 15 PTP completed 28 from PDIE Top
21 from PDIE Heliopole
• 58 interested
• 49 respondents (to the questionnaires
created by SMTC-Tisséo to define the target of
the PTP (prior to PTP questionnaires)
A target of 50 PTP completed by the end of 2015 would be
challenging but realistic
.
Results
In order to get more participants to PDP, we will propose to
send an Outlook meeting invitation to employees coming from
mobility managers to participate at an information mobility
events. A “cup”(small mug) will be offer to employees who
accept to be interviewed (for PDP or endup user
questionnaire if not eligible to PDP)
Implementation measures
Barriers / Major challenges : The main reasons for this low involvement level were: many
efforts were requested from companies/employees in a short
period ; the companies preferred to focus on the «event» part
of measures ; some companies communication policy
(emailing/intranet) limited the possibility to communicate
with employees ; online questionnaire circulated little, little
completed and filled by people outside targets (eg already
carpoolers or cyclists).
Deviation: The support of SMTC Tisséo to PDIE Top project managers
has been strengthened at their request (high level of support
not planned/needed initially).

Evaluation
Evaluation
Tisséo-SMTC started presenting evaluation questionnaire
and process (3 cycles of evaluation) since February 2015
to companies
Bad feedbacks expressed since the beginning (by
colleagues and companies) o too long
o employees are overwhelmed by questionnaires on different
topics
o limits of internal communication policy and privacy
Even if TML proposed several alternatives to relieve
companies/employees…
… Until now, no evaluation questionnaire
has been yet filled in …
Evaluation
• From mid-december : start end-user
questionnaires.
• Action integrated to the participation charter
to be signed by project managers and
meeting events for PDP
