• Most genes deal with nonsexual traits

• Genes on X chromosome can be

Stopping the Cycle

• A rare, uncommon version of a trait

• Polydactyly

– Unusual number of toes or fingers

– Does not cause any health problems

– View of trait as disfiguring is subjective
