EXPERIENCE NARRATIVE

Drilling Engineer

Chevron / Philippine Geothermal Dates: 2012 – Present Location: Philippines

Plan, supervise and execute drilling and workover operations.

Prepared drilling programs and management AFEs (authorization for expenditure) for new production and injection wells, redrills, and recompletions and recommended and specified downhole tools for drilling, fishing, and completion activities.

Initiated, engineered and supervised the execution of a critical valve change operation with no barrier in the well – operational procedure violated standard operating procedures but successfully achieved full support up to high level management in Chevron Houston headquarters to execute operation after leading and completing Chevron SOP MOC (management of change process).

Led and managed Mak-Ban Asset Management Team in developing rig and rigless workover projects for zonal isolation and tieback with the objective of regaining more than 10MW / $35 million steam production.

Initiated and implemented Chevron WELLSAFE requirements (process safety assurance to guarantee well containment) on well designs following Chevron global well control initiative – post Macondo.

Developed and executed a $10 million rig workover campaign following Chevron CPDEP (project management and execution process) deliverables and WELLSAFE requirements under budget and incident free.

Formed and managed a Well Decision Team consisting of cross functional team members (from reservoir, geology, facilities, asset affairs) from planning to execution phase on workover projects valued at $18 million using rig and rigless equipment.

Engineered and successfully executed the abandonment of 7 wells using offshore rigless technology within schedule and budget, and incident free.

Initiated, planned and supervised the critical wellhead change operation of 3 wells and achieved incident free operations, and 4MW / $14 million steam production savings.

Planned and executed the well preventive maintenance valve change operation of 9 wells, and well diagnostics caliper operation of 8 wells incident free.

Provided SME (subject matter expertise) to drilling engineering team in developing various cost effective cementing slurry systems for new wells and P&A wells.

Contract owner of 5 key drilling service contractors valued at $5 million, and managed their contracts, scorecards, service quality meetings, safety process audits, and worked with SCM (supply chain) on price negotiations and modifications to existing contracts.

Collaborated with HES representatives in rolling out Chevron CHESM (safety management process) audits for 6 business partners and ensured compliance to Chevron safety processes, health and environmental policies.

Project Coordinator

Baker Hughes Dates: 2010 – 2012 Location: Philippines

Planned and directed field operations for cementing and downhole tool services for drilling operator: Energy Development Corporation (EDC).

Successfully managed the mobilization and simultaneous day to day cementing operations on 5 land drilling rigs located in 3 different fields, culminating in 14 deep wells cemented with ZERO NPT (non-productive time) during a 2 year period.

Collaborated with 5 drilling teams from EDC engineering staff to streamline cementing operations and equipment for various drilling and completions.

Field Engineer BJ Services Dates: 2007 – 2010 Location: Malaysia / Philippines

Planned and supported field operations on assigned offshore and onshore drilling projects to ensure clients’ well cementing requirements and relevant health, safety and environment standards were met.

Successfully completed a 3-well offshore deepwater exploration campaign for Exxon Mobil in Malaysia.

Introduced to Chevron a new cement liquid additive system technology that resulted

in saving significant rig time, money and reducing safety risks for the company.

Amassed more than 100 cementing operations with ZERO NPT with 8 energy

companies: Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Pearl Energy, Monte Oro Resources, Petro Energy,

Norasian Energy, Energy Development Corporation, Maibarara Geothermal Inc.

Developed cementing procedures and JSAs (job safety analysis) to streamline and

simplify cementing new wells, redrills, tiebacks, and P&A wells.

Associate Engineer BJ Services Dates: 2006 – 2007 Location: United States

Selected for a fast-tracked management training program in the U.S covering all product service lines, which included cementing, acidizing, fracturing, coiled tubing, completion fluids, sand controls and down-hole tools on land rig operations.

Performed duties associated as day/night equipment operator for various service lines on land based drilling rigs and rigless services in the U.S. – Bakersfield, THUMS Long Beach, Kilgore, and Lafayette.

AWARDS AND PUBLICATIONS

Authored an M.B.A. thesis paper on the strategic management objective of BJ Services to continue to grow its business in the

geothermal industry by increasing revenue from cementing and stimulation services by 15% over a 3-year period, which was vetted and approved by a panel of business professionals (2014).

Authored two technical papers on the application of offshore rigless technology for P&A geothermal work that were presented at the World Geothermal Congress in Melbourne, Australia (2015), and Chevron Drilling & Completions Conference in Cape Town, South Africa (2013).

Authored an article for Drilling & Completions Clear Leader Magazine (2013 Q3) on challenges overcome during 2012 rigless P&A program.

Best BBS Award (2015) – for initiating stop work authority on contractor employee not wearing H2S personal gas alarm while entering confined space at wellhead cellar with potential H2S exposure.

Huwaran Award (2014) –for surveying and generating a database for existing lock screws in use in Tiwi and Mak-Ban wellheads in response to the loss of life in AMBU.
