The Club Mission Statement

The 60-80 Holden Enthusiasts’ Club Inc. is a family friendly club which aims to promote the awareness and appreciation of Holden vehicles manufactured between 1 January 1960 and 31 December 1980. All attempts are made to ensure that costs are kept to a minimum so that access to Club events and activities is available to all members.

The Club Constitution

The 60–80 Holden Enthusiasts’ Club Inc. promotes a friendly and social atmosphere with members required to adhere to the Club rules and policies sanctioned by the membership. All members have the right to an equal say and age shall not form the basis of refusal to the Club.

The 60–80 Holden Enthusiasts’ Club Inc. will not enter into any form of slander towards other clubs or individuals within their own Club and members should, wherever possible, promote good relationships with members of other car Clubs.

Welcome to our first Newsletter for 2012, I hope you all had an enjoyable and restful Christmas/New Year and that you are refreshed for the coming year of Club events.

I would like to encourage all members to contribute any articles of interest , jokes, Congratulations, Get Well for our newsletter as it is one of our communication tools with our website to keep members in touch and up to date with Club activities. Our Christmas Party was held at Shane & Karen's on December 4th a great time had by all, delicious food , good company, THANK YOU for your hospitality.

At the time of writing this report we have already had,

1. The RACV Great Australian Rally was held of Sunday 15th January, a small group of members participated in this event, as this is a charity run all money donated went to the Peter Mac Centre they were hoping to better last years amount.

2. A run to Seymour on a very hot day, for the Swap Meet and Country Car Show this is quite a big event with a few members buying up some bargains.

3. The David Colleja Memorial Car Show at Bacchus Marsh.

4. The Whittlesea Country Music Festival Weekend where some members enjoyed Saturdays free street party enjoying up and coming new talent for the country music scene on stages set up at either end of the street, and market stalls lining the street as well.

5. A lunch run to Warragul Golf Club with 12 members enjoying delicious food and good company.

And don’t forget our Weekend Away to BEECHWORTH March 9th 10th 11th 12th .

This weekend away is a casual, social time, some members sit back and relax, others do the tourist sites, whatever suits you, so come along and ENJOY.

Just a note of interest our newsletter is reverting back to QUARTERLY.

So all the best for 2012 and I hope to catch up with as many of you as possible throughout the year.

Hi everyone, As Ian mentioned in his report the Newsletter is now a Quarterly publication. Due to the Christmas break and holidays this edition is a bit light on for material. CLUB PERMIT SCHEME – Important reminder to members who have cars registered under this scheme. To retain your Club permit you must attend 2 Runs and 2 Meetings including the AGM per financial year of membership. Some Red Plate holders have failed to fulfill their obligations as per the policy and rules guidelines. Failure to do so may ultimately result in our Club notifying Vic Roads of the cancellation of our endorsement for you to have the Red Plates. Please don’t put us in the position to have to do this. Club plates are a privilege, the obligation is yours.

On Sunday 29th January with temperatures in the high 30s some members attended the Seymour Swap Meet & Country Car Show, a good run up the Hume we arrived at Kings Park in Seymour to a large array of stalls, some had camped there the night before to get a good spot to set up their car parts for sale as well as a few niknak items. It was a great turn up of cars for the show they were parked on the grass some lucky enough to grab a bit of shade from the tall gum trees. Judging was done early,

So after a walk around the stalls where a couple of us were able to secure a few bargains, grab a bit of lunch, sit down have a bit of a chin wag in the shade of one of the pavilions, we then all headed off either to home or visiting family who were close by.

RED PLATE (CPS) SCHEME The 60-80 Holden Enthusiasts Club Inc. adheres to the spirit of the Club Permit Scheme (Red Plates).

When using your Club vehicle always carry your log book with the entry for that trip already started.

Given the significant benefits and modest fees, users of the scheme must consider it a privilege rather than a right. Abuse of the scheme could result in far reaching implications to the individual, the club, and the Permit Scheme in general, such as:

- Fines for driving an unregistered vehicle - Loss of your individual Club Permit - Loss of the club's authority to operate the Club Permit Scheme - Cancellation of the Club Permit Scheme for all enthusiasts

Club permits will be available to financial members that have been actively involved and financial in the club for a period of at least 1 year (discretion of the Committee), and have met the clubs requirements.
